During QuakeCon 2012 a company named Oculus showed up with their product called Rift which is a virtual reality headset with high resolution, large field of view, and low latency. Oculus teamed up with id Software's John Carmack to bring some software to the VR Headset and thus put Doom 3 BFG Edition as the first playable game. This article details Palmer Luckey (creator), Oculus, the panel at QuakeCon over this new tech, and my personal experience through the demo shown at QuakeCon. Complete with video and pictures of it in action.
Github’s ‘Codes4Fun’ has released a really interesting mod for the BFG Edition of Doom 3. This mod adds HTC Vive and actual motion controller support to Doom 3, letting PC gamers experience id Software’s shooter in VR.
this game is amazing amazing experience in VR. I never had so much scary goose bump moment in VR or any previous game.

They should just call them game goggles or something.
Mega Fail.
What is your definition of VR then ?
I would have expected at the very least head movement detection and also no controller being involved at all.
This is just a headset i could replicate the same thing by sitting directly in front of my TV.
