ZTGD reviews Napoleon Dynamite's first video game offering and discovers that some things are better left in Hollywood. Find out why this cult classic film does not translate well into the gaming world with this full review.
From the article:
''Even though the PSP is blooming with great titles lately there's always the bad apples that make it to every gaming platform. The following list of games should simply stay in the bargain bin or even better…the rubbish bin.''
Wow, that article was very boring. Each mini review averaged maybe 2-3 sentences and it didn't really give much insight into why they were so bad. He could have done better.
This is a stupid list. Of course all the worst games are tv show or movie games.
It's unlikely that many were begging for a Napoleon Dynamite-themed minigame collection, and those few who were will be disappointed by this shabby effort.
The Good
* Cut-and-paste graphical style is amusing.
The Bad
* The bulk of the minigames aren't fun
* Lack of audio causes a lot of the gags to fall flat
* No multiplayer options.
4/10
Yeah, it's pretty much like the best Napoleon game ever.
Licensed games have got to be the worst things to ever happen to the gaming industry. Rushed, buggy, uninspired, it's rare that a game can both capture the essence of the license and offer up some enjoyable gameplay as well. Somehow Napoleon Dynamite: The Game from developer 7 Studios avoids the pitfalls of most licensed minigame collections and delivers a product that's surprisingly polished and occasionally as inspired as the film it's based on.
Deb - What are you drawing?
Napoleon Dynamite - A liger.
Deb - What's a liger?
Napoleon Dynamite - It's pretty much my favorite animal. It's like a lion and a tiger mixed…bred for its skills in magic
Wow, they made a game out of Napoleon Dynamite!? And it got a decent score!!!??? I've got to try it.
