rofldings5933d ago

Not even one. The only game I want to play from that list is Galaxy :/

LanRanger5933d ago

Why are people disagreeing with the above post? It *IS* a list of only Nintendo titles. Mario and Sonic at the Olympic Games, Guitar Hero III, Resident Evil 4, Rayman Raving Rabbids, and Red Steel have all sold over a million copies as well.

http://vgchartz.com/games/i...

LanRanger5933d ago

For those keeping score at home, that's five 3rd party million+ sellers for the Wii, vs. four for the PS3.

rofldings5933d ago

Actually the PS3 has 7 million sellers and 4 of them sold 2 million+:

Motorstorm 2million+
Resistance 2million+
COD4 2million+
Assassin's 2million+
Uncharted
PES 08
FIFA

And NFS:PS is hovering under a million at .93m, etc

LanRanger5932d ago (Edited 5932d ago )

Apparently you're unclear on the concept of third party games. Motorstorm, Resistance, and Uncharted are all Sony titles. If we counted first and second party titles Nintendo would beat Sony by even more (16 to 7).

Frances-the-Mute5933d ago

dam, i just waiting for the smash brothers game, and wii sports is there because its free with the wii

Omegasyde5933d ago

I am going to rebuy a Wii just for smash brothers.

Mario galaxy is dope but not worth camping out for a Wii.

DADO5933d ago

It will be hard for 3rd party to make a lot of money on the Wii. Exclude Square-Enix.

BloodySinner5933d ago

Why waste time with the Wii at all? All the money is being made on the Xbox 360, PS3 and PC.

INehalemEXI5933d ago (Edited 5933d ago )

wii games are priced like last gen games. Companys get $10 bucks less per copy then a 360/ps3 title. Good price for consumers though :D

Omegasyde5933d ago

You forgot to put in terms of actually developing the Wii games.

Let alone the PS2-Wii ports.

LanRanger5933d ago

"It will be hard for 3rd party to make a lot of money on the Wii."

Are you aware that 3rd party games on the Wii have outsold 3rd party games on the PS3 by about 31M to 23M copies? Yet nobody worries about 3rd party developers making money on the PS3. So strange.

What? That can't be true, you say! But it is... go add the numbers up for yourself.

This must be a bit frustrating. I'm not referring to the shovelware...but when original and new IPs arrive on the Wii and users continue to ignore them, it must be a downer for these developers who flocked to this highest install base console.

Omegasyde5933d ago

franchises sell my friend.

New titles aren't known by the casual gamers unless they happen to see it on Tv Via a commercial.

I still don't believe Mario Party 8 sold as much as it did. Compared to the last game on the GC it seems more like a downgrade than a sequel.

Blank10175932d ago

uh.... this list is Million selling NINTENDO games. There can't be any 3rd party's on this list...

Dr Pepper5933d ago

Kind of sad that a game like Wii Play sells more than Super Mario Galaxy. But that's just my opinion...

TruthbeTold5933d ago

While I hear you, Super Mario Galaxy has only been out for three months, and people tend to buy Wii Play more because it has a controller included with it than anything else.

Dr Pepper5933d ago

Indeed, good point(s). But still...

Mario Kart DS - The Best Handheld Mario Kart

Mario Kart DS still plays a fine game of handheld Mario Kart more than 20 years after its initial release.

OtterX40d ago (Edited 40d ago )

I really liked the Mission Mode. They had you doing crazy stuff like driving backwards, or collecting all the collectibles as quick as you can between a litter of enemies.

They should add it to Mario Kart 9 for sure, along w online leaderboards for the mission stuff. That's how they could expand on the already excellent Mario Kart 8, bc track quality it's hard to imagine them getting much better beyond slightly tighter graphics and 4k on the Switch 2. Maybe more Diddy Kong Racing-esque adventure layout w more emphasis on boats and planes.

It's hard to say that Mario Kart DS is the best "handheld Mario Kart" though, bc Mario Kart 8 is handheld. It's definitely got some uniqueness that I appreciated. The 2 merged together would be amazing.

kevco3339d ago

I don't think Mario Kart 8 (and Deluxe) rank too highly for me, personally. There's just not as much life in them.

MaxiPower9039d ago

Mario Kart Double Dash, MKDS and Super Mario Kart are the only three that are actually fun to play. Sure MK8 is pretty but its just that. It lacks the soul of double dash. the DS one controls really really well and the orignial with the feather power up is cool.

BlaqMagiq139d ago

Mario Kart DS The Best Mario Kart.

Fixed it for you.

Number1TailzFan39d ago

Hard to disagree with that, really how can all the other games (especially after it) have less single player content?

DKR managed a better game on the 64 and Mario Kart gets away with literally the bare minimum all the time.

My top 3 are Mario 3, Mario World and Mario 64. Mario Odyssey is also excellent, and I enjoyed Sunshine but didn't care for the Galaxy series.

If they ever did I hope they would add onto it, there's so much you could do with Princess Peach's castle alone

roadkillers77d ago

Or just make the Mario 128... the cancelled sequel that sounded amazing (or was it just an amazing tale).

fr0sty77d ago

Funny that after all these years, we still use 64 bit CPUs, so it wouldn't make sense to call it that.

fr0sty77d ago

Yeah, a straight remake doesn't sound good to me. Same formula, but different game.

Number1TailzFan78d ago

Each level is pretty small today in the original game, I don't like huge levels but I think they could be at least 2x bigger, or close to it and more of them, with more things to do.

They could do a mix of having open levels and more linear ones like in 3D World or Land, I doubt they will do that but it would make a change.

Neonridr77d ago

I mean Odyssey's levels weren't massive, but requiring you to do different things in each world is what made the levels feel bigger than they were.

ZeekQuattro78d ago

I'd prefer a Oydessey 2 or Galaxy 3. Besides the DS
game was a Mario 64 remake complete with more playable characters, stages, bosses and muti player content.

Cacabunga77d ago (Edited 77d ago )

I did not like Odyssey i found the idea of ot lame.. i find it boring to just look for moons instead of exploring and enjoying the levels. Let’s not talk about the extremely repetitive and ridiculously easy bosses. Level design is so meh most of the time. Galaxy 2 is a far better game so Galaxy 3 anytime!!!

TiredGamer77d ago

Agreed. I enjoyed Odyssey for a while, but it quickly became very formulaic where each level felt like a checklist of things to do with WAY too many moons to find. The Galaxy series were the best, as they took some of what made 64 great and juiced it up perfectly.

Lolly77d ago

Yes! Let's release an almost 30 year old game to kick off the next generation for Nintendo...
I'm over re-releases...FEED ME NEW MARIO!
