Salem Review | Best Mmorpg 2017

Salem is a delightful little game for Java users everywhere. Crafting is the name of the game here, as it is at the center of doing anything, and everything. Take on the role of a Pilgrim brought to a new world, and earn your place with nothing but what you can find yourself or earn from others.

A Look at Permanent Death in MMOs

Falling in love with your hero, completing dungeons and being constantly revived by your healer are just a few things that happen in MMO’s. You decide to head into the latest dungeon and test your mettle against the new mobs, only this time, when you die you don’t come back.

I live by it, I die by it, I love it!

Perma-Death makes gaming so much more realistic and less kiddie-fide. It raises the stakes to unbelievable hieghts and puts your Gaming skills to the REAL TEST.

I love Perma Death in DayZ as the intensity of firefights is multiplied 100x because if you make a mistake or poor planning then BAM your dead, loose all your stuff, and find yourself respawning ALL the waay back in Elektro (Only to Die again by those looking to get cheap kills LOL)

I see more PC MMO's and PC sandbox games going the Perma-Death way cause it's the Core gaming experience PC Gamers Love.

Good read, i like the idea sounds challenging im going to give that dark soulsy one a go, i like having more control over tge character rather than point and click.

Salem: The Crafting MMO Open Beta Launches Today

In Salem, players can step into the well-worn boots of brave pilgrims, arriving in a fledgling settlement and attempting to carve out their new homes in the untamed wilderness. To survive, pilgrims will need to learn from the land to boost their skills, scavenge for food, and harvest natural resources in a wide-open sandbox environment to craft tools and homes, and even establish their own in-game settlements. Danger lurks around every corner, however, and between wild animals, unseen perils, and their fellow players, surviving Salem is no lean feat: there are few restrictions on Player-versus-Player (PvP) attacks, no law except what the community makes, and in Salem, death is permanent.
