Why Insomniac’s Outernauts was the Final Nail in the Facebook Gaming Coffin [OPINION] | GameFans

That reminds me.. whatever happened to Insomniac's 'Overstrike'? I remember it at E3 2011 but since then nothing..

Overstrike is their first multi-platform title after announcing a split from being PlayStation exclusive. Maybe they are finding it difficult to deal with Microsoft so they shifted their focus to Outernauts.

Maybe Overstrike will get canceled. They haven't mentioned Overstrike in a very long time. Isn't it funny that Ratchet & Clank are making a come back to PS3 before they can get Overstrike out the door?

Insomniac became too big for their own good IMO.Now they are trying to get some quick cash with a FB game or EA pushed em to make one.

Were you depressed because Outernauts wasn't what you wanted them to announce? Or because Facebook is an obvious step down from consoles?

i think insomniac is about to get a serious reality check about life without sony.
i mean, EA demand games that sales millions And if insomniac fail they will end up doing working on EA big franchise or will shut the studio down.
Example ; criterion, Grasshopper..!!!

I hope they didn't buy any of their stocks/shares...

As far as I'm aware Insomniac are not owned by EA, they have a partnership agreement with EA which would see EA publishing there multi-platform/New IP games.
Therefore EA can't shut Insomniac down nor force them to work on other EA franchises.

Please correct me if I'm wrong.

Insomniac isn't going anywhere as long as they make the Ratchet games. They may be done with Resistance, and wasted Overstrike development time with a silly Facebook venture, but they are a great studio. You really think they are like Zipper Interactive or something, and are due for a shuttering?
