Did Asura’s Wrath Create a New Game Genre by Accident? The ‘Interactive Anime Series’

OXCGN:

"Ever since Asura’s Wrath had been announced, I had kept an eye on the game’s progress.

Being a fan of Japanese Anime, such as Dragonball Z and the like, the game looked to take various cues and themes from Anime Pop Culture.

The art style looked to be a nice balance of hand-drawn and computer generated images. Battles take place on such an immense and global scale.

Asura’s Wrath promised an engaging story; I couldn’t wait to get stuck into it."

Not sure I like it as an interacive anime, but I'd play an interactive Metal Gear Solid...oh wait! :p

Lol. I remember one cut scene in MGS4 being over a half hour I think. But the gameplay does make up for the soap opera scenes!

WeskerChildReborned4304d ago

Yea MGS4 is truly a great game and i've been meaning to check out Asura's Wrath for a while cause i liked the demo.

gaminoz4304d ago

I wondered about this game. It seemed a bit 'out there' for my liking...very Japanese. They kind of turn me off. And yet I loved Onimusha. Why hasn't Capcom made another Onimusha yet???

Skate-AK4304d ago

Cause it's Capcom. They do the opposite of what their fans want. I want them to make a HD collection rather than a new one. With the way Capcom is this gen it would have cut content and on disc DLC.

Mocat4304d ago

Even a Onimusha HD collection would make me happy

Jadedz4304d ago

I realized that it was a title I could never get into.

dc14304d ago

That's fare.

However, I loved the game. One of the most pure fun (WTF and LOL) gaming moments I have had over the last year.

DeusExer4304d ago

I think if the game was more fairly priced, instead of full retail, more people would more than likely give this game a chance.

As hardly anybody is going to pay full price for around 2 hours of gameplay.

gaminoz4304d ago (Edited 4304d ago )

That's the truth. If it is that 'niche' it should be XBLA or PSN. It's either a game or an interactive movie

I had no idea Binary Domain was backwards compatible. I know what I'm downloading.

JayRyu676d ago

I would like El Shaddi, Afterburner Climax, and outrun 2 please. I am sure that there are other games as well but those came to mind for me right now.

Bring it Back | Asura's Wrath

GotGame's Bring it Back returns with a Capcom one-hit wonder, taking a retrospective look at CyberConnect2's quick time event heavy Asura's Wrath.

I really really loved this game. I would really love to play it again but unfortunately my Xbox 360 is long gone.

TheEspiownage1133d ago

It’s backwards compatible for Xbox One and Xbox Series S|X, so there’s still a way to play it on one modern console at least.
