The Fantastic Neighborhood boys tackle the tough issues this week, including this little art house film you probably did not hear of, The Dark Night Rises. They also play some games including Driver: San Francisco, The Walking Dead Episode 2, and more. They close by waxing philosophical about retro gaming.
GB: "We analyze Metal Gear Solid: The Twin Snakes and see how it holds up in the current gaming landscape."
I think your enjoyment of Twin Snakes comes down to if you played the PS1 original first or not.
The original soundtrack was missing in Twin Snakes and for me audio is half the experience. Original OST was iconic.
The only things that held this back for me were Naomi's voice acting and the music being changed when you end Sniper Wolf in the cutscene.
Other than that I thought the cutscenes and game were absolutely phenomenal.
The Metal Gear Solid HD Collection launched in 2011, and is still the best way to play Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater ahead of the remake.
Can’t wait to one day break that game out of the collection vault
Currently playing Snake Eater HD on CRT 16:9, via Scart RGB. Game looks great but not as clean as MGS2, but thats due to the setting. Can't wait for the remake + the next HD collection on PS5.
A mod by José Mellinas restores the voice acting of the original Metal Gear Solid from 1998 to Metal Gear Solid: The Twin Snakes.
