SPOnG: "Lead designer Haydn Dalton told SPOnG that, although the studio will likely introduce new gunplay mechanics as a primary focus, there will still be a melee component to avoid alienating those who are used to the last two Darksiders games."
"Vigil Games may not be around anymore but their 2 Darksiders games really raised the bar for 3D action adventure games. Let's take a look at both titles' gameplay and worlds and see which one emerges victorious." - A.J. Maciejewski from Video Chums
Darksiders 1 is a complete game but it’s obvious with Darksiders 2 they ran out of budget after the Ice world and the game just becomes a poorly paced mess.

Continue Play's Wesley Copeland reviews Darksiders II by Vigil Games.
"Darksiders II is everything you want from a game."
sums it up pretty much.
absolutely enjoyed Darksiders II
Yeah It was great. I keep meaning to go back to play Argul's Tomb but can never find the time :D
the last two?
Speaking of the 3 then. I don't like much gunplay, so yeah, swords & axes please :p
second game isnt even out yet?
Played through it...there really isn't that much to do with guns. They are used as a mechanic for things but only required in a few places. It's a great change of pace when it is introduced...swords & axes are the main event BY FAR
So I'm assuming we can expect...
Darksiders: War
Darksiders 2: Death
Darksiders 3: Strife
Darksiders 4: Fury
Then... maybe?
Darksiders 5: 4-Player Co-Op?
