Today, Bigpoint have announced an upcoming event for their hugely popular Battlestar Galactica Online MMORPG. The Festival of Kobol, a 17-day celebration event, will commence on July 27th and run through until August 12th. Players will be able to join in on a large variety of events, running 4 different tournament types across 10 events for the Decathlon tournament. As well as a variety of rewards and prizes for all players, the top 20 players on each server will be awarded special prizes while the top 3 will be branded as Gold, Silver and Bronze winners.

Not long ago, making games was simple. Publishers would look at popular genres or areas they saw growth potential in, and then they’d assign a developer to make a game based on what they decided.
