Player Attack: While IronMonkey and Firemint announced their happy merger, one major question remained over Infinite Interactive, the Australian developer which had been acquired by Firemint last year: What would happen to Puzzle Quest?
From GamesBeat: "505 Games and its parent company Digital Bros announced today the acquisition of Infinity Plus Two, the studio behind puzzle game hits Puzzle Quest and Gems of War.
The deal gives 505 Games a studio with free-to-play experience. Infinity Plus Two’s titles have earned over $200 million in revenue. 505 was already the publisher for Gems of War."
EA has begun a massive round of layoffs at its development studio FireMonkeys in Melbourne.
FireMonkeys, which was created in 2012 after EA merged IronMonkey Studios and FireMint, is one of the largest development houses in Australia. Focused exclusively on mobile development, the company is responsible for making Real Racing 3, as well as The Sims: Freeplay and Need for Speed: No Limits.
