Review: NCAA Football 13 | VGW

VGW: NCAA Football 13 brings everything that made last year’s entry so awesome and adds the enjoyable Heisman Challenge, but the question still remains as to whether or not that is enough to make this purchase justifiable for those who already own NCAA Football 12. Sure, a sports game is limited not only by licensing agreements, but also by the evolution of the sport itself, but the developers still must work to create an experience that makes players want to spend another $60. While the question of whether EA Sports has achieved that or not is only answerable by each individual player, there is no argument against the quality of NCAA Football 13. This is the same college football action that outshone Madden last year, and unless Madden NFL 13 lives up to its lofty promises, NCAA Football 13 could once again prove to be the superior football game.

"It’s apparent to us that the NCAA’s decision to end its long and hugely profitable relationship with EA is tied directly to the pressure our litigation is bringing to bear."

EA is always caught doing something shady

Probably not seeing another NCAA game.

ftwrthtx3952d ago

That would be sad. It's usually a better experience than Madden every year.

gedden73952d ago

Nope they confirmed that they will bring it out next year...

dbjj120883952d ago

OK thanks, now I gotta get back to playing NBA Elite 11, NBA Live 12, and NBA Live 13....

They can still make a college football game with individual licences from the Schools. Although it will be hard to sell as the player likenesses will have to be extremely generic

Hope NFL follows in their footsteps, anyone know when that licensing agreement runs out? I would love some competition from other studios. Especially from Sony like how they rule with The Show. Sony hockey game sounds good too, mmmm

The NFL contract ends this year, and from what I've read, EA no longer wants to pay the NFL asking price for the exclusive contract so things could get interesting.

On a side note DirecTV is rumored to be considering whether or not to renew their Exclusive Sunday Ticket contract that expires in 2015, so it appears the NFL is pricing themselves out of lucrative deals.

I SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO HOPE SO!!! I TRULY MISS NFL 2K football!!!

:-/ I still think it should be a mascot on the cover.

ftwrthtx4094d ago

I completely agree

Cheerleaders for Madden would be cool as well.

Seriously! Any given athlete has a max of 4 years playing for this school. The mascot lasts practically forever!

Analyzing the Annualized: 2012 Edition

Annualized sports game is something that never gets the attention it deserves. They’re a nuisance to some and there’s no doubt that they never change too drastically from year to year but as most sports fans will tell you, they change just enough. Though that can’t always be said as some games seemingly churn out nearly the same experience year to year or, of course, have an off year or two. In this feature I will analyze the sports games of 2012 and ultimately decide which sports game did the most to improve, and which did the least. This is by no means determining the Sports Game of the Year category in our annual GiR awards; it’s merely my opinion on the past year’s beloved recurring franchises that often include a ball… or a puck if you want to get real crazy.
