BT writes: The House of the Dead series has always held a special place for me. I remember when I came across the first sit-down cabinet of HOTD 2 and stepped behind the curtains to see waves of zombies coming at me. While there are better designed light gun games (and certainly ones with better voice acting), I’ve never had as much fun as just going to an arcade and wasting zombies a plastic magnum or sub-machine gun (or going home and typing them to death). However, the main thing I, and most gamers remember (outside of the voice-acting and lines) is the boss fights. Every boss in the franchise is an entertaining and intense experience that stays with you. So today, we’re honoring ten of the greatest Zombies or mutants to ever grace a monitor.
"There have been A LOT of video game to movie adaptations, and not many have done that well. A lot of the credit for the terrible adaptations goes to Uwe Boll, a German director who has a lot of the horrible films under his belt. Instead of making this a list of just his films (which can go on and on) I will just put two of his films in this list. I think we all know what number one is, but let’s have some fun along the way. These are all in honor of the recently released (and terrible) film, Pixels." -GamerFitnation

FarCry
Double Dragon
Street Fighter
Positively horrific "movies" based on video games.
I loved the Mortal Kombat movies back in the day, they still have a special place in my heart, I am a big fan of the series so there may be some blindness!
In this all encompassing article, Gaming Rebellion's David Garnica gives you a look at Zombies of all shapes and sizes from all video game eras. From Resident Evil to The Last of Us, this article covers it all. If you want a nice guide to video game Zombies right in time for Halloween, look no further than The Bestiarium!
Infamous video game film director, Uwe Boll responded to his critics recently in a video with the German YouTube channel, hyperboleTV. Mr. Boll has heard it all from angry gamers across the land. How could this man tarnish the brilliant writing and stories of games like House of the Dead and Bloodrayne with movies of equally terrible storytelling?
Well according to 'ol Uwey, it's because he just doesn't give a **** about the source material. Licensed properties just tend to come with bigger paychecks for lazy directors.
" Uwey, it's because he just doesn't give a shit about the source material "
Like Hollywood then...because they don't give a shit about the source material. Doesn't matter how many times the writer/director comes out and tries to make out that they are "respecting" it, it comes out, we watch it and it ends up being so bloody obvious that they haven't.
"Some directors like to entrench themselves in their source material, often pouring hours of research and care into their project"
I highly doubt they do, they probably watch a few trailers and gameplay segments and that's it.
I mean hell Michael Fassbender is doing Assassins Creed and he says it's going to respect the source material, despite being a fantastic actor I've been burnt too many times to actually believe that it's going to be good. I like him don't get me wrong but he's even said he's not a gamer.
Is it that hard for someone to go "Gee you know what, for years people have tried straying away from the source material, why don't WE try to do the opposite and stick as closely as we can to it"
Too bad N4G has rules about bad language, good job youtube let me truely express how I felt about this scum ;)
