Best of Niche Gaming: Top Picks for July 2012

VGW: It’s not every month we get such a wide variety of titles in terms of genre, gameplay and system. This July we’ve got something for everyone: a Japanese RPG on the Wii, a rhythm game for the 3DS, and even a whacky platformer available on XBLA. While it’s true the summer months tend to be somewhat of a lull for game releases, giving many the needed respite they need to chip away at that ever-growing backlog, we strongly feel that this month’s niche picks are just as strong contenders for a place in your personal game library as any other.

There's also the sequel rainbow skies. Tbh injust assumed this was already on the switch. I enjoyed it for what it was. Never did finish it though. I had the ps4 physical edition.

Yea, story wasn't great, especially dialogue, but some of the battle tactics got quite fun at higher levels. Sadly, I think Rainbow Skies sunk Sidequest Studios bc it came out years later than originally promised, and Vita enthusiasm had already died by then. EastAsiaSoft still owns this though as a publisher, so I'm guessing they're trying to squeeze some more out of it. I'd recommend it for like $15, probably nothing above that. I liked it enough.

I assumed it was too when I wrote it up. Never finished it either as fun as it was.
