Final Fantasy and Soul Reaver are no brainers. As for Silent Hill..SHUT UP AND TAKE MY MONEY!!

limewax4314d ago

As much as I agree that they are great games, all of which I would love to have on my Vita. Personally I am surprised that OPM have added these games to a list when Sony have said that 1.8 will only begin the inclusion of PS1 classics, so chances are the majority of these titles will be unavailable until a later date.

Silent Hill STILL isn't available from PSN in Japan........

HarryMasonHerpderp4314d ago

That's odd, Japan normally get everything before us.I heard that Silent Hill isn't as popular in Japan though so maybe that's the reason.

Knushwood Butt4314d ago

Dunno. We got the recent Silent Hill 2 and 3 HD, but neither Downpour, nor that other one before it, ever made it over here.

No reason for Silent Hill 1 not to appear though. These days almost all of the PS1 Classics released here are ass.

Hogs of war ! ( reminded by a person on OPM)

"Time fades even legend, and the origin of the Soul Reaver has been lost long ago. But its purpose remains - to feed on the souls of any creature it strikes. Kindred, this blade and I." ―Kain

The 7 Best Vampire Games: Embrace the Night

Vampire games are making a comeback of late, and gamers hoping this is a new trend should look back at the 7 best vampire games ever made.

SimpleSlave28d ago (Edited 28d ago )

What is a list? A miserable little pile of scribbles.

A Best Vampire Game list and no Bloodborne. A bold choice, indeed.

The_Hooligan28d ago

IMO, I wouldn't consider bloodborne a vampire game. Long story short, It's more about the side effects of the blood experiment and the influence of the red moon, than actually being a vampire.

SimpleSlave28d ago (Edited 28d ago )

Yes, Bloodborne is about Vampires. It's not just the undertones, or the imagery or the obvious parallels, it's pretty much everything and then some. Here's the thing, Bram Stoker's Dracula is also not a Vampire novel. Why? Because technically Vampires from folklore were something else.

But based on our updated view of what Vampires are, informed in one way or another by Bram Stoker's Dracula, Nosferatu The Vamprye, and many other stories, and combined with From Software's own interpretation, we can say with confidence that Bloodborne IS a Vampire story. Sure, there are other elements, but the central narrative is pretty much Vampires. Which would make it THE Vampire game. I mean, Cainhurst Castle. Anyways, that's how I see it.

But to each their and we'll agree to disagree.

Thats the best Vampire game ever, but enough talk, have at you!.

Absolutely... Now, die monster! You don't belong in this thread!

I've lost all hype for Bloodlines 2. It's going to be an action game.

Barlos28d ago

No Blood Omen? Even today it's one of my favourite vampire games. We could really do with a release on modern platforms.

I really enjoyed Vampyr. The combat is a little clunky and could use some work. However, the story, characters, dialog. setting, and pretty much everything else in the game is great.

I’d have taken a few of those out. Prefer Sonic over Sonic 2. Outrun should be in there. Maybe even Pong as millions of people had fun with that even if it was repetitive. Final Fight pipped any Streets of Rage game, although Streets of Rage had the better soundtrack. Too many to list l guess. To me, retro gaming is the 1980s, maybe going into early 1990s.

Agree that the generational gap is too broad to really make a strong list. Need to tighten the years a bit. Hard to compare Pac Man with N64 games.
