For the purpose of this article I will focus mostly on the software and the philosophy behind ubiquitous computing.

Access to information faster = faster ability to solve problems. Will we solve the problem of the human race and invent our superiors? At least superior access to information will stop people from being able to build empires based on hoarding information (yeah, I bet you can think of a couple of examples of those b****ds)!
