MCV: GRID 2 will follow F1 2012 release, could launch this year

"While Codemasters is officially working on F1 2012 for the fall, a new report claims the racing developer is also working on GRID 2 for release sometime after.

"CVG reports the latest OXM rumours page reveals that the original GRID team is in high gear developing the sequel to the 2008 hit.

"'The GRID team at Codemasters is actively working on GRID 2,' reads OXM. 'It's likely to arrive after the release of F1 2012.'

"F1 2012 is currently targeted for September of this year, so a holiday release would be in the realm of possibility (if it all proves to be true). No word from Codemasters yet on the currently unannounced title, but we’ll have our eyes peeled," writes Erik Johnson of MCVUK.

Grid is such an underrated game. It is actually brilliant. I still remember when you watch the first cutscene; zooming in on Earth and you think its CGI, but BAM- you're controlling the game!

The drifting was so much fun as well. Great game. Can't wait for the sequel.

GRID was and is my favorite racing game of all time.
I really hope they produce another.
After Dirt Showdown, that massive let down, they owe me!
Dirt 3 was great though.

I loved how the AI behaved in that game. It was my first time actually seeing the driver AI mess up on purpose to make the game more entertaining. Also, Demolition Derby was awesome!

Never played GRID but I loved Dirt 3.

To Sony, and so many other companies in this industry, the short-term satisfaction and happiness of their shareholders means so much more to them than their employees, their products, and their customers.

Apologies, don't know how the above comment ended up here while it clearly should have gone to other article about the Sony lay-offs. Please delete.
