Tony Hawk's Pro Skater HD 'THPS 3' DLC brings back the revert

Activision has confirmed to Joystiq that the $5 DLC arriving roughly a month after the launch of Tony Hawk's Pro Skater HD will bring back the revert, a kind of bridge move introduced in Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3 that allows players to chain together combos they couldn't otherwise in previous games.

But there's one catch: revert will only work within the DLC, and will not be a compatible mechanic in the core Tony Hawk's Pro Skater HD game. An Activision rep told Joystiq this is because "reverts were introduced in THPS3 and the levels were designed accordingly."

Yesterday, Activision told Joystiq Airport will be one of the three THPS3 levels to make the cut in the DLC, and that several more skate pros will be added as part of the $5 DLC pack. Above you can see the very first screen from the remade Airport map.

Gameplay mechanics as payed DLC... T_T

ChocolateGiddyUp4334d ago

Fuck that, take that $5 and just buy Tony Hawk 3.

Enigma_20994334d ago

Now you have to PAY for the revert?!?!?

F*** this game.

@LOL_WUT

Are you demented? You're paying for a game mechanic, that was introduced in a specific game, and won't even be usable in the whole game! And you're not even getting full games! Just select stages, as opposed to full HD versions of each game! Once again they're acting as if shiny HD graphics will let them get away with f***ing you over with everything else. We should at least be getting these stages and the play mechanics from Project 8/Proving Ground! But we aren't... and they want us to pay $5 for the REVERT?!!?

Activision can go to hell.

Another L for Xbox, when are they going to have good news?

MrDead6d ago

I would read the article but the giant pop-ups from the top and bottom of the screen made me close it.

Without reading $23.4 million isn't a deterrent for a company that size.
