For a fan of old school Sierra adventure games or full motion video (FMV) games, I couldn’t be happier with the projects happening on Kickstarter right now. Al Lowe bought back the rights to Leisure Suit Larry and is remaking the first game, Chris Jones is looking to make a new Tex Murphy game and the creators of Space Quest and Gabriel Knight franchises both have new projects.
Pixel Crow´s adventure/Cop sim "Beat Cop" is like a mix of "Police Quest", "Miami Vice", "Lethal Weapon" and "Mad Bull 34". Well, I (Robin Ek, TGG) really love that mix. So I enjoyed the pre-alpha demo of "Beat Cop" quite a bit, and this is the reason why.
For a brief moment, I actually thought that Beat Cop was a beat-em-up game :P Oh well, the game looks rather cool any ways.

"Well, unless you count the intro. Nevertheless, I coldn´t kill anyone in the demo :P"
True, but I couldn´t even pull out Kelly´s gun in the demo. So I hardly doubt that one could kill anyone in the demo.
Let's look at games that legitimately switched to entirely different genres altogether over time.
Chris Olewicz discusses which of the remaining Sierra series could be ripe for a remake.
SPACE QUEST! Had so much fun playing the old Space Quest games. Man, you think games on the NES were hard try typing in every single command to do anything with these early, early Quest games.
That was some torture...especially if yuo did't know hwo to spel rite.
Ahhhh...old games.
