What Does Madden NFL 13′s New “Infinity Engine” Bring To The Franchise? | JTM Games

"EA has shown that the Infinity Engine allows for a large number of animation possibilities that will hopefully make the game look and feel more authentic/realistic especially to hardcore pigskin fans. Each of the players and their interactions in the field are supposed to be more organic; meaning that the game takes into account the player’s speed, weight, mass, skill, and style." - JTM Games

NO MORE CANNED ANIMATION TACKLES!!

I've been wanting this before Backbreaker came out. Then I played Backbreaker and it really showed how far behind Madden is in a technical / simulation way.

Backbreaker lacked because EA has the NFL license and there were a lot of glitches and and AI issues at released. Then the game got patched and it was significantly better.

You really feel every step as you run. Timing is essential with every play and evasion moves! QB gameplay really makes you pay attention to your WRs and anyone trying to rush you. There were a ton of room for improvement and Natural Motion said that 505 Games rushed them to release the game. Well that's what happens.

People bashed it because of the on field view and because it made the game HARD.... in a good way. Made you feel like each individual player! People are so afaid of change it's crazy! You can hear the crowd Screaming as you find your way into an open lane. I wish they give this game another go.

If Madden can ever pull that feeling off then I will happily give them my money.

I will never give EA money for another Madden game. I haven't since Madden 2002 and nothing in any of their demos changed my mind. Football games would be so much further ahead if 2K had that license. I get a football game when 2K comes back. EA is getting a free ride because they still have the same stiff players and cheesy mechanics.

I haven't bought a Football game since the 2k days, i stopped getting into madden ever since it turned into more of a role playing game then a simple pick up and play game. Sorry but setting a price point for hotdogs in a game is not my idea of fun. Plus i simply hated john madden's commentary and updating the game every year with a tweak here and there...

Now it seems like things have changed quite a bit so i might cave and give this one a try.
