The Top Ten Games You Want to Play That Will Never Be Made

Those Guys write: The captivating storylines and innovative play of some games have led to fans spawning campaigns for the next big title in the series (see Starmen.net). I can’t say I will represent popular opinion in putting the following games forward, but these top ten ideas epitomize what’s missing from the lives of most gamers, as well as from the video game scene altogether. The following strike me as the games we would want to see more than anything in the world, but secretly know will never see the sun. Or the moon. Let’s take a look, shall we?

I just had to troll-chime in for a second & agree with the statement @ hand;

For what it's worth, Pokemon has been a pretty decent franchise, game-wise. What it's done with the whole "collect dem all!" gimmick & gameplay has inspired tons of, dare I say, knockoffs. Not to call them out, but things that this younger generation may be into, Yu-Gi-Oh, Digamon, all those "collect this & power that"-'mon shows, were all influenced by what Pokemon started.
Now, about the games, I have to admit;
The games are addictive & fun, you can't deny that. & it's not even on a childish level. It's fun to quest the towns, buy stuff, collect creatures, hear the little stories they tell, etc. & trust me, I am not a fan of Pokemon, I can't even name you 10 pokemons, but I did play a few of the GBColor & GBA games, along with the Stadium versions on the N64. & although I may have not understood some of what was going on, I can't say that I've played a bad Pokemon game.

Now, if they made a full next gen version, that has the same quest/adventurous gameplay as the handheld versions, mix in some stunning graphics & Poke Stadium abspects, like the arena battles, online co-op or competitive gameplay, you best believe that I would eat it up alive!

Let me start out by saying, first of all,
-Final Fantasy 7 is the most over-hyped video game in existence, next to Call of Duty. I played it a good chunk of it as a kid and eventually gave up on the series. Way too hardcore for my tastes, but to each their own I guess. I personally didn't find it all that good-- especially after hearing fanboys rant about it for days upon days I found myself very surprised. I think it's just downright annoying that it's the most prolific game series you could think of besides MegaMan and people only really care about one of the games. That being said:
-WE NEED A NEW JURASSIC PARK SHOOTING GAME.
-Do what Microsoft did with Perfect Dark 64 and do an HD version of Goldeneye 64.
-Jak and Daxter, Ratchet and Clank, and Sly Cooper HD Collections also need to be released for the PS Vita. Now that we can see that games such as Metal Gear Solid 3, which back in its day was a very beautiful game graphic wise, can be handled without difficulty on the Vita, I feel Sony should take advantage of the opportunity and put out more HD Collections on the Vita.
-How about Silent Hill? No?

And there was some Quest type game for N64, that required an expansion pak for for players, I can never remember the name of it, but I can remember openning a teasure chest and Death is in it, and he drains your life force until some one playing with you either kills him or give you a life potion... Me and brothers put so much time into that game wiithout a memory pak, up until it crashed/froze and we'll wait a week or so to pull another 5 hours on it....<-- if anyone knows the name of that game, then it should also get a HD remake or sequel as well cause that game was freckin awesome for 64

I think as of right now its a given that a remake of FFVII will happen. If you look at all the work and money that was put into Advent Children, mind you that was just a damn movie and look at the HUGE return they got from it, you'll know just how much Square would seek to gain from such a remake.

Another thing to note is that Square is really in some bad shape right now. FFXIII did well in sales and FFXIII-2 i guess did well enough, but if you look at they At the same time both FFXIII/Versus were announced so was Uncharted and Naughty Dog went on to not only make 3 games from that series, they are now on a new ip all together, that "lets face it" will release before FFXIII Versus and i think everyone knows it.

They really need to play catch up to the rest of the industry in the west cause this is just embarrasing. Not even to mention how many Atlus developed games were released or Level 5. Its getting sad. But thats why i feel they will mostly go with a IP that people recognise like VII. JUST like there doing with XIII with this XIII-2 and XIII-3 crap. There going the "safe" route. Its a REALLY safe bet to go with a VII. It sad because any publisher with half a brain would had BEEN released FFVII as a remake long ago. Square is really starting to show its age and i think there higher ups really need to be changed and they need to be expecting a bet more from a team.

Why is it that a game that has been known about for the last 7 years has yet to be released? And no, its not some master piece that is some how "worth" 7 years of development time. So your game development time is actually the fucking length of an entire generation?.....Now unless your planning to sell over 25million units of this game, there no damn reason for this. Its sad because you could still make a solid game with a solid release date AND STILL SELL 25 MILLION...if its a good game. I don't think 7 years worth of what going on a Square is equaling a 'master piece" remember KH2 people, not a bad game, not really worth all the delays either.

Its like, i feel people would feel better about this series if it didn't have Square as a publisher. You know why people are excited about The Last Of Us? Cause the trailer started with a Naughty Dog logo and ended with something epic. Now give the same epic game with a Square logo and lets see how excited ANY ONE gets over a game made by a team that takes a generation to release on game. Does anyone have any idea how much is learned about tech during that one generation that would had actually helped that games sequels?

Square's E3 2012 tech demo anyone? "Looks good alright,...oh Square's doing it....ok then" eats some popcorn and forgets about what was just shown. Show me that same trailer and tell me its Ubisoft, or EA, or Sony, etc and i'll care cause i know its something that i will see, you know...IN MY LIFE TIME.

I was a freshmen in highschool when FFXIII/Verus was shown, i just graduated collage 3 months ago. By the time Versus will be shown at a E3, it will be sharing the stage with the PS4, at this rate i think everyone will be happy to even SEE THAT happen. (even saying fall next year seems a bit unrealistic based on the fact that nothing was shown this year at E3)

^That above is why Square would be smart to make a FFVII remake, but its not unlikely due to sales or anything like that, its just unlikely because of Squares state. Shit, they can barely make the games there making now compared to making a remake of a game like FFVII. That publisher needs people fired.
