Well, to be fair, the majority of COD is not single player. This interview was manly about the campaign, which not as many people are interested in.

I'll starting making my guesses when we've had official multiplayer and zombie announcements, and form my opinion a month or two after release when the initial excitement's worn off and everyone's exploiting the worst stuff

COD 4 campaign was unbelievably great!
because it was a huge change compared to the older cod games, but now they are clinging to "cod 4 style" with the newer campaigns and you can see it obviously overdone and doesnt have the same "shock and awe" effect from cod 4.

As much as I appreciate the timeline shift for the series, I still don't understand why a new setting should be considered a huge change in the eyes of gamers. The same cinematic spin has been embedded into the series since CoD1. What's really the big difference between the slow-mo, heavy-breathing moment with a WWII plane flying overhead and a slow-mo, heavy-breathing moment with a dozen blackhawks in the scene?

If a change in scenery is all most of us need to have a "shock and awe" effect then doesn't that just make our community shallow?

The first cod was on the pc only and was completely using the quake3 engine. still uses some of it today.

It's a good fun game, think people take it and other shooters too seriously, as long as your having fun. it's a win.

It was confirmed before MW3 even released that there is absolutely no Quake Engine coding in newer COD games. Hasn't been for a while now, its something that angry COD haters try and run into the ground.

Modern Warfare was great at the time because we were overdue for a change in scenery. Almost every FPS to come out at the time was a WWII game. Looking back at MW it was quite simple, 3, 5, 7 with set killstreaks.

People tend to remember MW better than it was, everyone ran 3 frag and Martydom. The M-16 was a one hit kill, the Acog on any sniper rifle cause a headshot and started this retarded no scope thing. There were glitches that were never patched.

It was a solid game, but not the end all beat all when it comes to FPS games.

COD needs to go back to a simpler game, take out the killstreaks and go back to 3, 5 and 7. Put Stopping Power back in to cut through any lag, and put Ghost in as the counter.

Are you retarded? I play COD4 every day still and M16 is at minimum 2 bursts. Martydom is simple because the sound que, you need not more to make a smart decision. Those grenades don't hurt at all if you watch your area and see them coming. And quick scoping does suck, but in COD4 it's a lot less than anything else, usually they don't hit you with 1 shot and kill you.

And I believe it was the top FPS this gen, and possibly tied or only 1 spot down from Battlefield 2. If you disagree, you're in some heavy denial, COD4 is great.

And the Ghost/Stopping power suggestion is done. Stopping power countered by ghost does nothing because stopping power is both offensive and defensive for the abilities it has. Ghost is stealth, so it can be both too, but it's much harder to not be seen running across a map compared to just putting 1 burst into somebody sitting in a perch, or running around with a SMG like the MP5. Ghost doesn't help in either of those situations.

ChunkyLover, You forgot to mention how everytime you piss off the host by killing him...he backs out and the match ends. GOTTA love that in Search & Destroy ;)

Not sure what console you play COD4 on, but the M-16 is pretty much a one hit kill, you can hit them in the leg or foot and it kills them. It was so overpowered its not even funny.

3 frag on a map like Shipment or Wetwork is impossible to "Watch your area". You literally get spammed with frags from every angle.

And they never patched the glitch with the Acog scope, it is a headshot almost everytime without having to aim. The auto aim on MW was insane, you don't really have to do anything.

I know exactly what I'm talking about because I played the game since it came out in 2007 and took a team to the playoffs with the game.

It's so much more tiring reading the same cry baby comments about COD, more than COD itself these days. As unrefreshing the game is to the haters, imagine the same rehashed comments over and over for years now, anytime a COD game has a headline.

What's this guy smoking cod 4 will be the best because it was something new and it was basic and well balanced 3 killstreaks not 15. Blackops1.5 will be poor what I saw of the single player campaign it looks boring
