Combat felt about like what you'd expect - you can string together punches and kicks in short combos to knock thugs around, with the added ability to throw as well as perform evasive rolls and a dash move. A "mixtape" system will allow players to equip your own loadout of special moves, though we didn't get a chance to check that out.
True to its arcade brawler roots, Double Dragon Neon features drop in co-op/out co-op via local or online play, and since this is a modern game, you can revive your downed partner. In a nice continuation of the mixtape motif, the icon to revive your buddy is a pencil jammed into the spool of a cassete tape.
With River City Girls 2 arriving next week, it's time to look at the company's best!
"Digital games are more convenient than physical games, and usually cheaper too. Still, there's something about collecting physical games that appeals to many gamers. Preordering limited physical editions directly from boutique labels is always an option, but sometimes retailers offer the same editions for a better price. That's certainly the case with Best Buy, which currently has 14 Nintendo Switch titles from Limited Run up for preorder, including TMNT: Shredder's Revenge, Double Dragon Neon, and several more co-op hits," says Co-Optimus.
Limited Run Games is preparing physical editions for both Double Dragon Neon and Double Dragon IV for the Switch that include standard and Classic Limited Editions. Pre-orders go live on May 28th, 2021.
The original Double Dragon from the Arcades about 30 odd years ago was amazing at the time, i played Double Dragon Neon not long ago and it had totally lost all of its appeal, its either Double Dragon isnt that good anymore or Neon is a crap representative of the original..
