Assassin's Creed 3 - E3 Official Trailer [UK]

You are Connor, warrior son of a Native American mother and British father. As the colonies draw closer to revolution, you will become the spark that ignites the revolution into a full blaze. Your crusade will lead you through blood-soaked battlefields.

omi25p4362d ago (Edited 4362d ago )

No American was harmed in the making of this trailer.

Ubisoft talk crap, Connor is neutral in the war. So why the F*ck is he only killing English.

Connor is fighting for the Americans. Which means the Americans are assassins, Which means the Assassins win the war and that goes against the entire Assassins Creed story.

I cant be arsed with this game.

iamnsuperman4362d ago (Edited 4362d ago )

Ha.....I have no idea why ubi says one thing then shows the other.

@ below Yes I am watching it live. I know right. It would be ok if they just came out and said it and not what they are doing

omi25p4362d ago (Edited 4362d ago )

Don't know if your watching the conference live.

Someone asked if the English were the bad guys and the only ones you can kill. He the DEV then says no he is neutral and can kill either side.

Then in the trailer Connor Kills more Red Coats and No Americans.

Screw this game

LOGICWINS4362d ago

Because the Templars happen to be on the English side...fighting with the Americans is just a means to Conner's OWN end.

user54670074362d ago

But Ubisoft has said in many interviews that the templars are all over

On the British side and the Americans

user54670074362d ago (Edited 4362d ago )

I do not understand Ubisofts logic here

They said in a past article that they didn’t want to get involved between the whole “Red Coats vs Americas” thing and make one side look like the good guys so gamers today wouldn’t argue with each other, especially with the online when you have Americans playing with people in the UK and they’ve also stated that Connor is natural in the war and is on his own path against the templar’s which they’ve also stated are on both sides BUT the thing is all they have shown us since the game was announce, teaser trailers, screenshots, scans, game play videos is Connor kill Redcoats over and over and over again. I don’t understand

Don’t get me wrong I’m not a patriot for my country, yes I am British but I’m not seeing why Ubisoft are lying. This isn’t just me looking at one trailer and jumping to conclusions; everything they’ve shown us so far is Connor killing British soldiers and side with the Americans in the Ubisoft E3 game play videos. Hell Connor is wearing blue like the Americans. I just don’t understand why Ubisoft would lie about this.

I noticed this a while ago but I kept my opinions until E3 when I would see more stuff but it’s obvious now that Ubisoft obviously has made Connor pick a side even though they’ve always said he wouldn’t be involved.

In my opinion, as a person who has read all the codex stuff in the AC games this doesn’t make sense for the Red coats to be the bad guys. This is basicaly going against what they've said about America and the templars in the AC games

Britain looses this war in the end, we all know that, since thats the case then it would of made more sense for Ubisoft to make the Americans the templars since they’ve said in the games that the templars are the strongest in America. The Redcoats should of been the Assassins who have came over to liberate America from Templars control, think of it as Revelations where you sent your Brotherhood out to liberate small countries but on a much grander scale however this time the templars have made it look like the Redcoats are trying to take America from their own greedy purposes making them look like the bad guys even though they would be Assasins.....still with me guys

In conclusion it would mean that in the end since the Assassins (Red coats) would lose the war that this is the reason why Templars have taken control all over the world in the present time and why there are hardly no Assassins left to help Desmond in his quest against the templars (Abstergo) and save the world from the 2012 disaster

I understand when world war games do this when the Germans are the bad guys because thats how it happened but Ubisofts AC games don't always follow history since the Templar presence is always behind massive wars changing the background and reasons for the actual wars purpose

Eamon4362d ago

You wrote an entire essay over a small demo.

The demo makes up probably 0.01% of what's going to come in the game.

Maybe, just maybe, (take a deep breath), it was just that the demo didn't have any moments of killing blue coats?

Maybe, just maybe, there might be opportunities to kill American templars.

And remember, the modern day Templars are essentially Americans anyway.

user54670074362d ago (Edited 4362d ago )

@Eamon

<sigh>

You obviously havent read what I wrote

"This isn’t just me looking at one trailer and jumping to conclusions; everything they’ve shown us so far is Connor killing British soldiers and side with the Americans in the Ubisoft E3 game play videos"

They've shown quite a bit, especialy the massive E3 gameplay demo

I think it's enough to come to you conclusions about what direction they are taking.

If we havent seen Connor kill the Americans then it's probably not going to happen

Besides the big E3 "Epic" trailer for AC3 shows him just killing redcoats and lead America to victory...theres plenty to judge my opinions on. If they were going to show him being netural he would of kept out of the war and not pick a side

@Eamon below

Well if it dosen't bother you then good for you, I don't see why you commented then trying to play down my opinion

But as a person who has invested a lot of time in AC and the fact it dosen't make sense story wise with what the AC have told us about...it bothers me

Plus I don't like it when developers lie

Eamon4362d ago

The thing is, even if Connor doesn't kill any Americans, it doesn't bother me one bit.

I'm British and I honestly don't give a damn about killing redcoats. Assassin's Creed is supposed to be a historical game.

And who knows, maybe Ubisoft want to keep the American targets secret and not spoil any potential twists?

And anyway, I don't purchase an Assassin's Creed game with regards to how many Americans I kill.

From the demo shown just earlier in the Ubi conference, it looks AMAZING. Redcoats or Bluecoats, I don't give a damn, I just want to play the game.

Kaos_Vll4362d ago (Edited 4362d ago )

@mike
so if they show him killing americans it's suddenly a must by for you then? They've showed maybe 3 clips, mostly of the same scenes just different parts but it's enough to let you know the story?

can't believe it really bothers you to not see him killing americans. As advent as you've been it must have nothing to do with the story(since you haven't played it) and everything to do with your haterd for a country.

sounds personal and you should seek help. fast.

Didnt you know!? Americans are bullet proof! Unless well there getting shot by other Americans...

I_LOVE_MYSELF4362d ago

Who gives a rats ass if the British are getting slaughtered in the trailers? its Ubisofts game world and characters and they can do whatever the hell they like. There is never bitching about killing Russians etc so why the sudden sensitivity? Its just as stupid as saying "black people" were the enemies in Resi5. If the templars are British then so be it.

Can't believe I'm British and have to put up with this whole British vs America scenario so often. My country just ends up looking like over sensitive cry baby bitches. That being said, I don't think Americans would like to be referred to as "bad guys" in a game, but I am fully looking forward to a game where that happens to be the case.

Sandmano4362d ago

Your comparing zombies to the British? hmmmm okay...

I_LOVE_MYSELF4362d ago

I'm actually comparing "zombies" (as you call them) to Templars.

Liberation vita gameplay please!!

MattyG4362d ago

This looks really great. sooooo excited.

Reborn4362d ago (Edited 4362d ago )

Have you actually considered, that it's a trailer/one mission? How do you know Connor can't accept missions for both camps? It's a small piece. I'm not saying your opinions are unjust, but wow. Least see/hear about the other 'sequences' before jumping it. He was talking to the American guy about a templar. Happened to be in the British side, at that point.

Maybe the American templars haven't been noticed yet, so early. In many AC games, you have to progress, and gather intel to find key personnel.

cheeto1014362d ago

Did that American general look all that pleased to see that British general take an arrow to the chest? Hardly.

1 trailer highlighting 1 battle doesn't mean we will only be killing British soldiers.

user54670074361d ago

1 trailer
1 teaser trailer
A few pre E3 gameplay videos
E3 gameplay videos
Screenshots
The box art
Connors clothes colours representing the US

Yeah it's not just "1 battle" people are judging this on

Bethesda makes the most consistently stupid NPCs, like really bad... yet I still can't help but love playing their games. Guilty pleasure, I guess. *sigh* 😩

My first thought was the safe rooms in the resident evil series. When you hear that enchanting music you know you’re safe.

Killer2020UK290d ago

I literally just came here to post this. That music in the Resi 1 safe rooms is playing in my head.

I was thinking TLOU work benches. Although I remember one time where it was a false security.

Perfect. 👌👌

I'd add the top of my highrise apartment in GTA Online. That calm, quiet peace, just knowing as soon as I step out that door I will be bombarded by 8 and 12 year olds calling each other n**** and f****, trolled by combat jets and rocket launchers.

The entire map of SotC is peaceful as hell. Used to just ride around exploring it.

mastershredder290d ago (Edited 290d ago )

Afterlife in Cyberpunk 2077 is a peaceful area? Erm, hands down and very hard to miss, Misty Olszewski's Esoterica is the absolute epitome of peaceful areas in that game.

raiden_188290d ago

The "last of us" deer location i found to be a welcoming respite. It was nice to not have someone trying to eat me.

Kingdom Hearts tend to present half peaceful areas and most of them are amazing.

'Assassin’s Creed III': Ten Years Later

With the recent reveal of Assassin’s Creed Mirage and the promise that the series will return to its roots, there hasn’t been a better time to get stuck into Assassin’s Creed’s back catalog, whether it’s replaying an old favorite or getting lost in previously looked-over classic.

Ten years later, we miss the old you, Assassin's Creed.

Popsicle564d ago (Edited 564d ago )

I really enjoyed Assassins Creed 3. My only complaint was that I didn’t enjoy when I had to switch from Connor to Desmond. It’s a personal preference, but Connor’s story was just more fun for me.

On a side note, Black flag was the most enjoyable of the AC games I played.
