EA announced today that the new Need for Speed: Most Wanted 2 will be out on October 30th, just one week after Forza Horizon.
Need For Speed: Most Wanted 2012 (henceforth referred to as NFS 2012) is one of developer Criterion Games’ most ambitious games. The studio is best known for its work with the amazing Burnout series and has brought all the things you loved about burnout to the Need For Speed franchise. Has Criterion created the perfect racer or is it just eating the dirt other racers are kicking up at it?

Everyone who disagreed has obviously never played it, along with the author of the piece. In my opinion it is the best game available on the vita at the moment, followed closely by little big planet and gravity rush.

like you saw, two rythm games in my top 3 while the excellent GravityRush is in position 8 could make you say "lolwut?", ...but thats how i roll.
Well it is a remake of an old game, some might only consider new games for goty , since its not on their list at all that's the only reason I can think of
The list was compiled by everyone that regularly contributes to the website and votes were collected from each for their top five. From there the top five overall were worked out. Since we are European based, and only one of us has actually played Persona 4 it was not going to feature really.
I'm sure with the European release of Persona in february it will feature on the 2013 list. ;)
We can't go waxing lyrical about games we haven't played now. :)
I have to say I was REALLY impressed with NFS Most Wanted on the Vita. It looked and sounded amazing. I actually play it more on my Vita because I can take it during long car rides. Can't wait for 2-3 years down the line when developers start to take advantage of the Vita. I wouldn't be surprised if in 2-3 years the next NFS game looks just like the console version of NFS. Anybody remember the first Resistance game on the PS3? Compare that to PS3 games now like GoW and TLOU. Super excited.

Aww less traffic? That's what I really like about NFS and Burnout, dodging and weaving between traffic...
We're talking 2% less traffic here. Is anyone really going to notice? If your city had 2% less traffic, would you really notice?
I don't even have a Vita, but complaining about this seems like Vita trolling at its finest.
If you read the article you'd see that the 2% less relates to races; or PS3 content. Jeremy actually says that there is a lot less traffic.

I really hope they're not just making a Burnout game with real cars instead of an NFS game. They've been avoiding the whole car customization topics and focused on the online features. Minor performance upgrades won't cut it. So in that regard, I don't think it will live up to its name.
2% less traffic?
i dont know if you guys noticed or not but a popular game by rockstar by the name of gta iv had a traffic option for performance reasons on pc.
meaning that some of us had WAY MORE and some of us had WAY LESS than the standard ps3 360 configurations no one seemed to mind that because an article was probably never written to bring it to attention.
in other words its done for performance reasons and in MORE other words it doesnt matter
simple mathematics
if there are 2 cars in traffic to begin with and you remove 2 percent you still have 2 cars.
if there are 100 cars to begin with and you remove 2 percent you still have 98 cars.
no matter the scale its NOTHING.
:) im really starting to like the vita its pulling off some stuff i didnt know was possible in that form factor.
It's nice to see Vita counterparts to the PS3 versions. I hope that cross play and cross buy (buy ps3 and get the vita version free) continues on the PS4. In sure it will for the most part. :). Great to be gamer.
98% of the PS3 version is still very good, it's just a handheld afterall, why do people all of a sudden expect it be better than PS3/360?

If it's only missing 2%, but it has it's own exclusive content (vita events, as mentioned by Nathan), then doesn't it mean that it could have more than the 2% that is missing, and it could have MORE than the PS3?
This is classing complaining: I will probably never own a Vita, but wow, that's some classing whining over nothing and not taking into account other factors as well.
actually traffic can be quite annoying at this
happened to me a few times in burnout paradise when i am a few seconds about to win , going up a hill theirs a random car coming from the other side
I agree. But I mostly find traffic annoying in NFS than Burnout...
seem like ac3 has less npc's as well. i would take dumbed down graphics on a handheld with good gameplay any day.

YOU GOT IT IN A NUTSHELL this is nothing but BURNOUT game cover with NFS title.
any future racing games from criterion games will ALWAYS!!! feel like BURNOUT until they figure out the formula to NFS.
Still, let's hope that "less traffic" actually mean that there is some. The limited footage we have seen from users seems to be quite empty...
I agree, the weaving in and out of the traffic, especially in Burnout Paradise was incredible.

This is a fail comment. The 98% has nothing to do with the amount of traffic but the amount of races taken from the PS3-version. There are 2% races missing but you get exclusive VITA events instead.
Noone would even mention 2% less traffic because noone would ever see the difference.
All I care about is customization and this games seems to be lacking in that department
Yes but from what I understood its all performance handling, engine etc. I want my car to stand out to feel unique with custom paint jobs spoilers, rims etc. I hate that theres no cosmetic customization in this game all the cars are stock and look bland.
Its a street racer thats why its such a big deal if it was a sim like GT then no problem but its unacceptable like this.
I also hated how the devs dodged questions about customization saying its all about performance. They obviously dont know that people who play street racers LOVE to customize their cars.
Its no only thing thats keeping me from getting this game everything else seems great.
How much customization has there EVER been in the most Wanted series? Are you sure you aren't thinking of the Underground games?

Gameplay of it at EA's conference looked incredible. 100% Must Buy along with Crysis 3 & Medal of Honor Warfighter.
I can see myself spending a ton of countless hours messing around with the cops.. they seemed pretty smart from the footage as far as I can tell.
This is Hot Pursuit & Most Wanted combined.. The perfect formula for a Need For Speed title imo.
Disappointed by the lack of car customization, what the hell were they thinking!! :(
