Honestly, i dont care if they have coop multiplayer or anything...please visceral games, KEEP DEAD SPACE HARDCORE! keep it like the last two. you guys have the best horror franchise this gen.

Soldierone4363d ago

The gameplay looked fantastic, but I do agree!

MattyG4363d ago

Having just played DS2 last week, I had it fresh in my mind watching this. I was slightly dissapointed, because it looks more focused on gunplay and action, less on scares.

BringingTheThunder4363d ago

they likely wanted to show more action, keep the scares for the full game

MattyG4363d ago

@BringingTheThunder ahhhh yeah that makes sense. I still think it won't be as scary as 2 though. Still a great game, just not survival horror.

BringingTheThunder4363d ago

there wont be online multiplayer, just co-op

user54670074363d ago (Edited 4363d ago )

It looked like a typical third person shooter action game, there was not one trace of survival horror especialy the drop in drop out co-op...yeah the character thats with you stays in the game as an AI, he has to he interacts with the enviorment through cutscenes to progress the game.

The Necromorphs just feel like they've been placed there so you can shoot at something, not something which has been well done story wise.

Oh and the new character comes off like a douche, trying to be funny when he's not...he's basicaly the typical wise guy soldier "shooter now ask questions later" grunt.

I'd rather have Ellie then him, but I think they killed her off in the start of the game, either that or they've made her lost so you have to find her.

I just fee like Issac has become a space marine instead of the simple character who has managed to bump into the necromorph outbreak again. Least with DS2 he got involved because he was in a mental hospital and the outbreak happened while he was in there.

NastyLeftHook04363d ago

you know, i agree with some points you made. one thing i would change is issak talking. in dead space 1 he was quiet and it brought alot of mystery to the player. hell i spent 50 hours on dead space 1 because i savored the sweet and dark mystery that was apart of the game, the not knowing what was around the corner feeling.

whatever visceral does im really hoping they focus on more scares than pure action thrills and such, bring survival horror back! resient evil sure as hell isnt.

"im really hoping they focus on more scares than pure action thrills and such, bring survival horror back! resient evil sure as hell isnt."

Want some friendly advice, don't get your hopes up

It's EA and the fact that they ignored what happened to RE5 should show you that DS3 will not bring back survival horror.

They could of had a great horror game but they sold us out for Capcoms approach

EDIT

@Sevir

Oh for the love of god it dosen't make a difference what form co-op is taking, it looks like it has ruined the game and there dosen't seems to be a trace of survival horror in the game, if there was they would of showed us.

It's a typical third person shooter now...just admit it. I love the franchise but I can admit whena developer has screwed me over

Sevir4363d ago

You should read the game informer preview on DS3.... Your co-op partner isn't even an AI character! You have the choice to play co-op and things only change in that with your co-op partner showing up in cutscenes it shows the relationship of Issac and Carver. People thinking you're gonna be babysitting will be surprised to find that Carver's presence in the game is more woven into the narrative! as confirmed by the developer's he is just a character apart of an even larger cast in the DS universe

Those who complained about the games linear approach will be glad to know that they've given you more openness to advance through the game. and with that openness to the levels they've added more mobility to the characters which makes sense, Purposely crippling your character to induce fear by a design choice just gives a cheap sense of that emotion...

And people who where wary of the idea that necromorphs now wield guns and fire at you and also hate the inclusion of a coversystem...

That system is introduced and used sparingly you'll only go into cover when you face off with the unitologist who have increasing become more of a military threat to issac if you have been following Dead Space, so they have Guns. but the twist comes with the fact that the Dividers can now enter a a downed human's body and take control of them like a puppet but they movement is much more clumsy and awkward! Its all well thought out

Game informer had nothing but great things to say about it! Even the Single player campaign is said to reinstate that sense of fear on a great level...

i Know fans for the franchise are against the change because they feel the game is becoming more action oriented but please can we really just remain optimistic and judge the game when its out and in our hands! then you can play the game in Single Player as most of you will from start to finish offline and then if you so "CHOOSE" replay with a partner and experience the game with an added layer of excitement!

I cant wait! I saw the trailer and it looked amazing! The The game play looked fantastic and the inclusions of new necromorphs that change based on how to dismember them plus the new puppet control scheme of the "Divider" necros make this even more cool!

Visceral has been doing great and i'm loving that the franchise is moving forward and not staying stagnant!

TheBlackSmoke4363d ago

Oh look its MikeCosgrove claiming a game is ruined again because he doesn't understand that you cant extrapolate an entire games content from a 5 minute demo.

user54670074363d ago

@TheBlackSmoke

Course you can

Just because you can't do it dosen't mean I can't

Everytime I've thought a game is going to out crap I've been right so far so please don't be bothered while I keep on doing this

If coop is such a big thing please tell me they didnt leave out local coop !!!!!! Please tell me they didnt leave this out !!!

tigertron4363d ago

Anyone else really dissapointed? it looks like EA/Visceral are taking the action approach...I pray to God they don't mess this up. I mean, co-op already will take some horror out of it. They should have kept it like DS2. That had the right balance between survival horror and action.

krisq4363d ago

I thought I was watching Gears of War.

tigertron4363d ago

Yeah, I love Gears but it has no place in Dead Space. The guy playing kept making Isaac roll around like Marcus...

Morgue4363d ago (Edited 4363d ago )

Thought I was watching Lost Planet.

But all the sarcasm aside it looks fun and I'll be picking it up regardless.

AgreeFairy4363d ago (Edited 4363d ago )

Which means we'll have to babysit the AI.

At least the multiplayer in the last game didn't effect the single player experience.

Pass.

Why Dead Space 3 Will Be the Hardest to Remake

If EA and Motive Studio plan on remaking all the main Dead Space entries, they have to change a lot of what made Dead Space 3 so divisive.

Simple, do not bother with a Dead Space 3 remake. Rather have a new entry for Dead Space.

myfathersbastard435d ago

Yeah I agree. Make a dead space 3, but have an original story/setting. They’ve proven they can do the game justice, and I think they could evolve 2 in a good direction, keeping a similar tone. I’d love s Dead Space 2 and 3 though. The remake was fantastic. Top tier remake, up there with RE2.

jznrpg435d ago

Remaking 3 would need to be a reworked and somewhat changed remake as 3 was flawed in most peoples eyes and the worst entry.

Ninver435d ago

It's the worst in the series.

Dead Space 3, A Ten Year Reunion

WTMG's Kyle Nicol:

"Was Dead Space 3 really that bad?

Well, it’s a complicated question. Dead Space 3 is undeniably the weakest of the trilogy. It’s a game that deviates so far from the original formula, that it throws a lot of what made Dead Space special in the first place out of the window. Although, where it does make up for it is one of the best cooperative shooters on the market, even after all this time. Do I recommend playing this game ten years later? Hell yes. But make sure your expectations are in the right place. It has a lot of problems that bring it down."
