I don't understand how the PS3 numbers are accurate. It doesn't match up to the global totals I see everyday. According to this chart the PS3 should be well ahead of where they are claiming it stands today. For example the chart shows the PS3 outselling the 360 for years but yet the PS3 remains 2 million behind the 360. Are the Wii numbers right? Their sales have dropped drastically. What happened?

bah... it's vgchartz, their numbers are never accurate which is why their articles are always labeled as rumors.

Sony and MS tied this gen according to VGChartz 1% difference in market share and Nintendo won.

But that would also mean more working PS3s than 360s, just from my own experience, I bought 2 360s (one RROD'd) and only one PS3.

"But that would also mean more working PS3s than 360s, just from my own experience"

lol what a stupid thing to say. so because you bought 2 360s and only 1 PS3, that means that there are more working PS3s?

ive bought 2 360s and 2 PS3s - launch 360 RROD'd twice, got it fixed for free both times, then after about 4 years of ownership the GPU died so i bought an arcade and slapped my HDD on it. my launch PS3 up and died last year from the YLOD, sony wouldnt fix it unless i paid minimum of $250 repair fee (australia, dont bitch and say its not that much - it is here) so i just bought a brand new slim for $350 instead.

the 360 and PS3 both had unacceptable failure rates. YLOD is far more widespread than N4PS3G likes to think. the only difference is that sony didnt do the right thing by their customers who encountered it, whereas microsoft did.

on topic - vgchartz, so noone should give a $hit.

***"YLOD is far more widespread than N4PS3G likes to think."***

No it's not.

mochachino4360d ago (Edited 4360d ago )

YYLOD was above the typical 5% (I think 10-15%) but RROD was massive, Continuing from my own experience 4 out of 5 of my friends 360s broke (RROD/ bad DVD drive) and every time I took my 360 to Purolator to ship it to MS the people working there even said they got about a dozen broken 360s a week.

The launch consoles were horrendous and even later consoles up until the 360 slim released were unacceptably fail prone.

RROD was so much worse than YYLOD, and it wasn't just RROD, a lot of DVD drives gave out and other problems.

I had the same experience already on my 3rd xbox360. Luckily it's a Slim so it hasn't really given me any problems. But I've had my only 60gig ps3 since 2007 and it still works as it did day 1.
