Batman Can’t Be Decapitated in Injustice, Because There Are Limits

Kotaku: "You wouldn't know it from reading many popular DC Comics, but there are limits to how violent the adventures of Superman, Batman and Wonder Woman can be"

Moby-Royale4348d ago

My honest question is: Why?

They really didn't give a reasonable explaination.

negroguy4348d ago

This is most likely the same reason as to why high class brands like ferrari wont let their cars be damaged in movies or games. Believe there is a limit to how much damage the auto makers allow cars in GT5 and Forza to sustain ingame. Just want to keep a good image.

Batman couldn't be decapitated anyway.

Nimblest-Assassin4347d ago

You know why he can't be decapitated?

BECAUSE HE'S BATMAN!

why do u poor BATMAN fan believe a MERE MORTAL man is unbeatable ,indestructable?? lol even on SUPERHEROHYPE.com people think the same way batman cant be killed or harm i beg the differ.

Why not? It would make the emotional attachment grow stronger. For example, I'm a huge Spiderman fan, so if I saw Spidey beheaded, it would have an emotional impact on me and make the experience more memorable. Theres no shame in seeing your company's most popular character decapitated, because it gives reactions and shows that the fans really care that much!

Wow.. Most of their readers are teens and younger. Yes let's show a decapitated spiderman and hope that kid isn't 'emotionally' scarred. These are super heroes that little kids look up too. I mean really you need to see a decapitated spiderman to have an 'attachment'?

sinncross4348d ago

I don't buy the emotional attachment to such extreme forms of violence.

Especially when you are old enough to understand the dynamics beyond superheros and stuff. Your attachment to superheros is what they stand for, what they look like, their attitude, and their abilities.

No Im sorry... but decapitation will not cause an emotional response but outrage. emotional deaths are meant to be tragic, rather than gory. Imagine if instead of seperoth descending and stabbing Aerith(sorry if im mispelling their names).... he decapitated her and kept stabbing her.

Thats not emotional... do you get emotional when you see Subzero rip out scorpions spine? No... because its over the top gore.

A true tragic death must be about sacrifice, or is something so shocking you don't see it coming. You need to build it up in the story, rather than simply rellying on shock factor. In spiderman reign Mary Jane died because of Peters radioactive semen (I kid you not) Does that really sound tragic or just a cheap attempt at trying to be tragic

Spoilers for some games

Coles sacrifice at the end of Infamous 2
Jack killing the Black Baron in madworld is not

Honestly if spiderman was "just" decapitated... it would cause outrage because he just dies. There must be a reason to kill him

The Joker dying at the end of Ac is tragic, because he died the way he lived, and that had an emotional impact... seriously if Joker died like this

http://www.youtube.com/watc...

Its not tragic its hilarious

This is a fighing game... the ammount of emotional impact it can deliver is honestly really low. They refer to Superman pulling Batmans head off at the end of the match. I don't think anyone has an emotional connection after a fatality... but rather OMG THAT WAS SO SICK/DISGUSTING!

Why do you think MKvsDC flopped? Because they toned down the fatalities

Im cool if Batman dies... but you need to respect the character you kill and take real effort into their death, rather than just do it for shock factor to rile up the fans
