Eurogamer- If you were in marketing, you might say that Joy Ride Turbo is two games in one. That's true, just about, even if it isn't necessarily good news. The first of these games, see, is fully-realised but bland. The second is patchy but quietly promising. Sadly, Microsoft spent most of its time and effort fleshing out the wrong one. That makes Joy Ride a rather uneven prospect: it's weighted down on its worst side. It's weighted down on the side that isn't much fun.
Joy Ride Turbo launched 10 years ago today. The first title was Xbox Kinect exclusive, yet this sequel failed to support the device at all.
Joy Ride Turbo is a kart racing game from developer Big Park. It was released on Xbox Live Arcade for Xbox 360 back in 2012. It is now available on Xbox Game Pass for Xbox One. Let’s try it out!
Neil writes: "There should never be a refusal to acknowledge free stuff, and with the Xbox Games With Gold scheme the free games and experiences have come in multiple forms over the years. But as the Xbox Game Pass slowly tightens its grip on the gaming world, the power and prestige of the Games With Gold scheme has diminished. Surely though with Star Wars and Sherlock Holmes games going free throughout November 2019, the draw and appeal should be huge again?"
