It would be pretty neat if they did what they're doing with Sly: Thieves in time on the PS3 and Vita where if you purchase the PS3 version you get the Vita version for free and you can transfer saves between the two.

It's actually my roommate's TV.

The point is that games like AC simply work better on bigger screens. The only reason to buy it on a handheld would be if you didn't and couldn't get it on a console.

i see what you mean as in work better but all it means is its available on more platforms than just PS3 or Xbox360. All its saying is Vita owners have a choice to buy it regardless of their home consoles

There's rumours that for cross-platform PS3 games that exist on Vita + PS3 if you buy the PS3 version you will get the Vita version for free. I hope it's true for AC3 if it's on the Vita

Bigger the screen worse it looks. Also another advantage of the vita is that vibrant OLED that unfortunately your tv still cannot compete with. I do love TVs though i've had a 3DTV for some time now but there's something about playing on the vita that is brilliant.
I would agree if it wasn't for the dire resolution consoles today use, Thats why I prefer my pc at 1080p.

Definitely a new AC for vita, but not a port of ACIII. Have it in the same era, sure, just not the same game. I always love when a portable game compliments its console counterpart; God of War for example.

No way, not enough people have a vita for a 3rd party developer to spend time and money on a brand new game like Assassins Creed. Too big of a risk. Ports are fine cos it takes minimum effort but companies won't be too eager to go through the design and implementation of a brand new game on a console with only about 1 million owners.

Plenty of publishers take advantage of new hardware by being one of the early ones. Lots of games that wouldn't do well otherwise do great by being an early exciting title.

I just knew I would get a lot of disagrees and I knew no one would give an adequate reason. I almost didn't post in case of getting marked for trolling or something silly.

Plenty of publishers don't take advantage of new hardware. Most would rather wait for the install base to increase before releasing a game (not a port). That's why the most anticipated Vita games are first party games. Sony has to produce great games to make people buy and therefore give more reason for third party developers to make fully fledged games. I'd be very surprised if we see any big games like AC or GTA specifically made for Vita for a couple of years at least.

Obviously my logic isn't the be all and end all but I at least expected to be corrected by all the inevitable disagrees. I'd love it if you had to explain your disagrees on this site.

First of all AC3 is hardly possible on Vita IMO. It is powerful, but it's not PS3.

Secondly, we don't have anything about the AC on Vita. And I don't think Zavvi has. Just another wild speculation probably.

Thirdly, AC on Vita will have its own story and different chars. So it can't be AC3.

I see your point, but yet... Uncharted: Golden Abyss looks unbelievably on Vita, it could compete with Uncharted 1 on PS3 IMO. But AC3 is the game that pushes the limits of home consoles.

Instead of downgrading AC3 fto fit on PS Vita it would be a better decision to make a new game. To reduce costs Ubisoft could use materials (models, textures, scripts) from previous AC games. And I guarantee that on Vita a new AC would sell a lot better than AC3, simply because many people would rather buy a console version.

Of course people with disagree out of hate. I agree no way AC3 would even fit on the vita. People are seriously overestimating the power of the vita. Ubisoft says this is the biggest AC game yet. You really think games like AC brotherhood in Rome would fit and play like the 360/ps3 version? Obviously not. The vita will have it's own Assassin's creed game if anything. No way in hell would it be the same AC3 game on the ps3/360. If this was the case and people were this blind then tell me this.. Why not have every single multiplatform/ps3 exclusive game on the Ps vita? You know For cross-play purposes. Obviously you know the answer. Sly Cooper thieves in time looks nothing close to Assassins creed 3 graphically. In fact Ratchet and clank future tools of destruction a game from 2007 looks better than Thieves in time graphically. And still the vita version of thieves in time looks downgraded compared to the Ps3 version. Now people will say thieves in time is still in it's development stage so I can't judge graphics but I say so what? So is the Last of us and AC3 yet they look superior to any game Naughty dog or Ubisoft developed and produced. Stop putting a handheld system in the same league as home consoles. You guys are seriously overestimating the system. I don't care how many disagree's or agree's I get. Because you know truthfully the vita is not capable of pulling off AC3 the same way it's on the 360/ps3

I own a vita and I fully agree with you; I mean t's one hell of a powerful handheld and I look forward tot he improvements that will come over the next few games as devs get to grips with it but AC 3 has brilliant graphics from what i've seen and I swear I read somewhere they can have 1000s of enemies/allies/npc's on screen at any one time with their new engine with each one acting independently; that's impressive and no way vita can do that if we were talking about AC:R or AC:B a couple of years ago thne yeah it might be feasible but AC3 no way; I'd rahter a new game anyway designed to work on vita; that'd be much better :p

the vita doesn't have to be as powerful as the ps3 to run AC3. the Vita doesn't have to render the same resolution and higher level textures as the PS3 and there for won't require as many resources either. The vita is more then capable of running this game just as well as the ps3. You forget the vita has a quadcore cpu and quad core gpu with 640mb of RAM to play around with. last time I checked the vita was able to run Kz3 at 480p via remote play and still run pretty smooth and beautifully and that game has more things going on at once then any AC game, also streaming full game data like that takes a decent amount of resources away from the vita itself. Playing a port would be nothing

Now of course that video was but a tech demo it still however shows just how capable the vita is for a handheld console.

..... it wasn't running killzone 3 it was streaming it via remote play from a ps3 the ps3 was doing most of the processing required just the same way as I can play a game well beyond the ability of my pc via onlive provided my internet is working properly.... from what I;ve seen the wii U's controller will work in a very similar fashion :p

GynGa : Ubisoft announced that AC Vita would have a new story/character before they announce AC3, so AC3 on Vita is possible.

Personally, I would prefer a simple port. Spin-off of AC were often bad (Bloodlines for example).

The Vita is becoming only ports of bigger games and not exclusive new gameplay and story options I was looking for. Not inclined to pick one up yet.

I know developers say its easy to port ps3 games to the Vita, but i hope the Vita version isnt a port, if they want people to buy both titles, the Vita version could be a side story or some sort and then include cross platform connectivity. either way i thought the assassins creed announced for the vita on tgs was a completely different story.

Once again people do not understand that most multiplatform ps3 games are a ports anyway. Mortal Kombat, Rayman origins, and Ninjas Gaiden are all ports and looked and played phenomenally. Granted I still don't understand why they left out the multiplayer in rayman. IMO if they can put any game onto the 360 they sure as hell can put it on the vita and still use one cartridge. I too want the vita exclusives but also port every game to the vita. Let me be the judge if I want to play it on the vita or the ps3.

Lmao are you implying that a handheld system is more powerful than a home console? That vita is stronger than the 360? Are you serious right now? If it were simple to port a multiplatform game over to the vita then why not do it with all multi games? Sure port it but I guarantee you it's not going to look or play like the 360 version. People like you need to stop overestimating the damn handheld. A handheld and a console are two different things. If a game can simply be ported to the the vita and look and play the same than the developers know they didnt put much work into the games on the console version. That's why rayman, mortal kombat, and ninja gaiden looks shit in comparison and the best part is the vita is 221ppi, 960x544p resolution and running on a small screen and still looks like crap compared to the ps3/360 versions. Look gorgeous for a handheld no doubt about it but come on some of you are saying if they can port a game on the 360 they can easily port it on a handheld...

Not only are people bangning on about and misusing the word "port" but people keep banging on about graphics.

Multiplatform is not porting if it is the same game and released in the same approximate timeframe!

Graphics do not make a game! Otherwise Nintendo would not be in business any more as their machines graphically have all been about 1 - 1/2 a gen behind the Sony and MS consoles.

So AC3 could comfortably run on a Vita, the cart for one is big enough to hold the game and so is the memory card if downloaded. As far as running the game it is quite capable albeit with a lower resolution which for the harder core AC fans may be an issue but my guess is they will buy it on desktop consoles anyway.

You should be greatful if it is even considered for the Vita as the more overall sales it gets the better the chance of AC4, and possibly the better sales for the Vita.

Anyway bring on E3 so all these rumours can be laid to rest until next years bout of new rumours.

You are right about that, but screen size makes a difference and this type of game should not be played on a screen so small. Many core games should not be played on a screen so small. It's like watching a movie on a vita instead of a nice big LCD - it's just not the same.

some people just needs to be happy that an amazing game like AC3 will come to their console or handheld. If AC3 will come to vita i'm pretty sure it won't look as good as the one in the console version but i guarantee that it will still look pretty decent on vita. the vita version is for people who don't have ps3 like me. i don't think Ubisoft thinks that people who owns a ps3 and ps vita will buy both (unless their pretty rich).

I actually feel stronger for a direct port maybe with some more/different content put in it. Every time ubisoft does a "handheld exclusive" you can bet that it's just some cheap spinoff.
