Ubisoft reveals E3 2012 lineup full of blockbuster games and surprises

Today, Ubisoft announced that it will kick off the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) 2012 with an invitation-only press conference at the Los Angeles Theater at 3 p.m. PDT, June 4.

That's not the line-up - that's just what they are showing at the booth, the invite only press conference is where they are unveiling the blockbusters and surprises.

I always love watching Ubisofts "Road to E3" videos every year. I wish more publishers and devs did them. It's cool to see the team excited and nervous about their demo.

I'd like to see a sequel to the cell shaded PoP. One of the best and most realized worlds I've seen in a long time. A true inspired iteration, unlike The Forgotten Sands.

And yes, and a new Splinter Cell. Something along the lines of Pandora Tomorrow/Chaos Theory with multiplayer included...

I will not forget that day. I'd just played a demo for Metal Gear Solid, I'd got to the DARPA Chief, when it the demo ended. I NEEDED to know more!

So I ran down to blockbuster, found the game, and brought it to the counter.

"Sorry, you're not old enough."

"But I've just played the demo!" :(

My first run in with age rating censorship began with Blockbuster.

In the end I rented Ape Escape which was shit good anyway. I needed to wait but a little longer before MGS was mine.

On Topic: I'm interested in hearing whether or not U-play will be incorporated into more games, especially Far Cry 3. I think it's a great service that really gives in-game acheivements worth trying to obtain, since you actually earned in-game goodies like costumes and weapons, rather than just trophies and gamerscore.

I think that all games on PS3/360/Wii U by Ubisoft will have U-play incorporated into them.

Actually Assasin's Creed 3 and Far Cry 3 are 2 of my most anticipated upcoming games this year..and hopefully Ubi will announce another Splinter Cell at E3 ;)

And since AC is already an established money-maker franchise, and given the popularity of FPS games these days, I'm sure both AC3 and FC3 are sure to be "blockbusters" if we're using that word to mean "huge sales numbers"!

PS: I'm not sure what a "layered service just for unlockables" means.. From the SC: Conviction menu, all I had to do was create a U-play account (for free) using an email address.. then it gave me a list of in-game tasks to complete which unlocked more content. I'm not really into trophies and acheivements/gamerscore, but completeing assignments for in-game goodies (for free) is pretty awesome.

I am betting 'my hopes and dreams' on seeing Beyond Good and Evil 2 at E3. It's just a hunch but there's been a lot of big talk about surprises, Ubisoft are claiming this will be their biggest E3 ever and there have been murmurings in the wind about it finally showing far more beyond the CG they showed years ago.

There was some poll that IGN and Gamespot did with their fans and mostly all of them said that they were the most excited to see Assassin's Creed III more than any other game at E3. Aside from GTA V, that is.
