The new Square Enix dungeon crawler for 3DS, Heroes of Ruin, was confirmed to have a North American release date of June 26th, but that doesn’t seem to be the case anymore.

i guess we'll hear from squeenix about this soon?

Dante1124378d ago

Yeah, I wonder what caused the delay?

TrendyGamers4378d ago

They probably wanted to keep all of their big 3DS games in July (Theatrhythm, Heroes of Ruin, Kingdom Hearts).

Capt-FuzzyPants4378d ago

You'd think they'd spread them out for better sales. I know once I get KH I won't be playing anything else on my 3DS for a long while. Plus I really don't wanna buy three games in one month for the 3DS.

Wouldn't surprise me if it has been delayed...
Just seems like something that would happen...^_^;

Maybe to space out between Theathyrhytmn (July 3rd) And KH: DDD(July 31)?

Not much different from the spacing of the original date of June 26th.

A July release would do nothing more than sink the game amongst the other big titles mentioned. I don't understand it from a marketing perspective. Perhaps they're having multiplayer server issues.

I'm all for delaying a game to fix problems, but these consistent delays make me question the professionalism of the company. If you have to keep delaying a game, somebody is making mistakes.

I feel like Heroes of Ruin has promised awesomeness, but the consistent lack of professionalism in management of the game makes me question how good it will be.

The Nintendo Switch already has a model for good voice chat … in a 3DS game

App Trigger: "It's almost 2018. The Nintendo Switch has surpassed the Wii U's sales in Japan and is going on a year old. Its voice chat stinks, but Nintendo needn’t look far for a fix."

I can’t take Nintendo’s online efforts seriously when it lacks basic universal standard functionalities such as this

Good choices. I didn't know the 3DS version of Sonic Gen had different levels than the console versions.

Hindsight Review #2 – Heroes of Ruin : 3DSBlessed

HelenBaby writes : "During the summer of 2012 the 3DS was truly blessed, for those sorcerers at Square-Enix unleashed a trio of titles for it that, as a whole, served to elevate the console’s library (not to mention generate heaps of interest among those who had previously been on the fence about purchasing the console). Those titles were Theatrythm, Kingdom Hearts 3D and Heroes of Ruin. Sadly, every family has it’s black sheep, and the latter title proved to be the degenerate of this bunch.

Developed by n-Space, this action RPG showed so much promise. It’s graphics and playstyle led many of us to believe that this was going to be something of a pocket World of Warcraft. Sadly the game fell far short. Yes you can play 4-player both online and off (which was rare in those days), and even talk to other players online using the 3DS microphone".
