OXM:
Capcom’s new RPG certainly starts off with a bang. After a brief tutorial and a robust character-creation sequence, you’re thrown into the game proper, where a dragon decides to ravage your peaceful fishing village. You vainly take up arms against the beast, only to have it rip out your still-beating heart, then fly away. Somehow, you live, and you’re now called the “Arisen.” Humanoid servants (“Pawns”) follow you around and most people treat you as a savior.
Although the sequel is on the near horizon, the original Dragon's Dogma Dark Arisen remains a fantastic action RPG, still worth playing.
Daman Shelley from NoobFeed writes - Dragon's Dogma is truly a one-of-a-kind game, and there really is no other game like it, but there are a few that come close. Whether with their fantasy settings, the ability to climb mountains, or just with the overall same charm as Capcom’s iconic RPG. Here's a list of games that will hopefully scratch that Dragon's Dogma itch.
I can still hear the title screen music in my head after nearly 12 years. Loved every minute of it.
I have no issues filling my time til DD2.
Granblue Fantasy: Relink, Infinite Wealth and Final Fantasy VII Rebirth will probably me more than enough.
More terrified I won't be done in time.
Try not to burn yourself out before the game releases. This is going to be a long and immersive RPG like the first one.
The games in this article are all great and I believe the people who are excited for Dragons Dogma 2 probably already played most of those games.
For now, I recommend you prepare yourself for long play sessions if you will be picking up Dragons Dogma at launch.
Dragon’s Dogma achieved its highest concurrent player count in over six years over the weekend.
Excellent game spoilt by grindy combat and no fastbtravel the stones travel system was rubbish
I'm doing my part to contribute to this. Found out my pawn had been a busy bee while I was away.
when i found this game i loved it and played the hell out of it, got to the demon in the expansion and after feeling pretty good at the game he wiped the floor with me, fatigue set in, but i need to get back into this i think, looking forward to 2 for sure.
WHAT!!!!!! -_-
Pure BS . I've seen them give free passes to incredibly buggy and run of the mill games , and suddenly they wanna do the job and get picky ?
The game is a solid 8 , or even 9 if we go by the usual (low) standards of the medias .
just like i said in another review (comment was quickly removed) because this is a capcom game it'll get 7's and lower by most people who nit pick everything and ignor everyhting that is good about the game jsut like when square enix publishes a good game it gets bombed in the reviews because it's square enix, hell i watched an ign interview (or gamespot) that gave uncharted 1 a 6 because it didnt have online wtf (then the game came out the video was quickly changed to a solid 10 :/ )
this why developers are sequel dependent, because if you try something new, entitled reviewers will bash it for something it's not.
and by it being a new ip running on a open world proprietary engine of course it's going to be rough around the edges.7.5 to 8.5 (even some9's) should be the norm for what this game trys to accomplish.
it takes two of three outtings to make a world like gta or tes.
Who listens to OXM anyway? I canceled my sub to them awhile ago..
