Top 5 Games In June 2012 To Look Forward To

Heavy hitters like Diablo 3, Max Payne 3, and Starhawk definitely aren’t present in June. Next month is more or less populated with a lot of games that could easily turn out to be hit or miss, with only a small number of them that look to be good. With that said, here are the top 5 games to look forward to in June 2012.

probably gonna try them all out but i might wait for lollipop to drop in price

TrendyGamers4362d ago

Lollipop Chainsaw is still $44.99 if you pre-order it from Toys R Us.

BringingTheThunder4362d ago

thanks. but i was thinking more like $30 instead of $45

to be honest, I don't think I've ever bought any of Suda51's games at reduced price with the exception of Killer7 that I bought used. After that one game, I've been buying his games w/o a second thought. It isn't because his games are great or spectacular, but it has a lot to do that I love what he is doing with action adventure genre. There aren't enough for this generation or rather there aren't many developers that are good at making it. There are plenty of FPS that get a lot a of love, but not for this particular genre. Rockstar is another good example, but only GTA series is getting all the love. People are always afraid to try out new things.

The top 5 games of June look very promising.

Especially since the list consists of Nintendo Wii entertainment system exclusive The Last Story. An outstanding AAA quality Nintendo exclusive jrpg title that I have had pre ordered for quite some time now.

Following in the trail of the critically acclaimed Xenoblade Chronicle that recently released in my region. The Last Story has been said by many to be one of the greatest awarding jrpg experiences of this generation. Breathing another shot of much needed fresh air into the genre.

As this generation slowly comes to a close. The Nintendo Wii entertainment system has solidified its place as the number one platform for quality jrpg experiences. Day 1 purchase, and I am looking forward to the Nintendo quality adventure that awaits me next month.

Have a blessed day and happy gaming.

Rated E For Everyone

OccludedGamer4362d ago

Xenoblade was a fantastic game, but being from UK I can warn you the The Last Story is not the same kind of game.

It is nowhere near as good as Xenoblade was. But worst of all the game is such a departure from the norm that the term JRPG doesn't exactly feel fitting to it. It's really more of an action game.

JohnApocalypse4362d ago

Spec Ops: The Line looks pretty cool

strangelove4362d ago

Ah, Gravity Rush is finally coming out in the states. While I doubt I'll buy a Vita just yet, that is going to be the first game I get.

srcBFMVBMTH4362d ago

Soul Sacrifice and Gravity Rush man.. MUST HAVE NOW! Would be happy to see a PS3 version (Dual Pack) considering Gravity Rush was supposed to be for PS3.

jc485734362d ago

I will buy the Vita when there are enough games for me to warrant a purchase, but I will be picking this game out even w/o the console.

avengers19784361d ago

Gravity Rush does look sweet. I own Uncharted, HotShots Golf, Mod Nation, Unit 13, Escape Plan, and Super Star dust Delta, for the Vita already... though I do realize these games arent for everyone they are all high quality games, with Gravity rush and Resistance Burning Skies, thats a healthy Library of games in just a few short months of owning a vita, I am happy with my purchase of the vita.

Forget Gravity Rush movie, give us another GR game!

porkChop110d ago

I didn't even know a movie was coming. If they can get the visuals and everything right I'll watch it.

Barlos110d ago

I didn't either, until this article. I'm also surprised, since GR was a commercial flop. Seems weird that they'd want to invest money into making it into a film.

I think the games are great though, especially on Vita. I think the move to PS4 killed the experience a little, but I'd still like to see a new one.

1Victor109d ago

I didn’t know it was in development ether but it makes sense after they saw the first doctor strange movie and the far from home fight, if it’s like that’s it’s going to be one of those Oscar nominees

Cacabunga109d ago

GR movie and shutting Japan Studio.. so stupid

porkChop109d ago

@Cacabunga

Oh yeah... Well there goes any hope for a new game. Shuttering Japan Studio was a really bad decision.

purple101110d ago

Surely you’d think if the movie is coming so is another game

And I couldn’t be happier.

Only played the demo of gr2 but let me say it’s one of the most artistic and inventive new games. Ps5 will power gr3 to new heights
Fingers crossed

Made my day hearing this.

Finally, something innovative

Redemption-64110d ago

GR2 flopped, which would they make a new game? A movie has more appeal and a successful hit at the bix office, could lead to a new game for the franchise

ChasterMies110d ago

Ok, I’ll stop sitting on Gravity Rush 2. It’s been in my library for only 8 years.

Chocoburger110d ago

Play Gravity Rush Remastered first if you haven't already, the stories are linked together. GR 2 is a fantastic game, it has a lot of stuff to see and do. In fact I have purposefully not completed the game 100% because I simply didn't want the game to end. I still have some trophies to collect, and a whole free story DLC chapter to play through.

Gravity Rush 3 would be amazing! But the team that made parts 1 and 2 were shut down, so I don't expect it to happen. This was Jim Ryan's biggest sin of all, shutting down PlayStation Japan Studios. What a shame.

FinalFantasyFanatic110d ago

Why not both? I really like the games and was disappointed we didn't get a third game to finish off the story, but I wouldn't mind a movie either if it's well done. Maybe it'll drum up enough interest to get us that third game.

gold_drake110d ago

damn that is aaalot of ppl

id rather have another Gravity Rush game than a movie tbh

DarXyde110d ago

Same. This series really resonates with my gaming spirit. I love these games so much that I got four platinums out of two games. I was always dreading that we would never get another game after Japan Studio's closure, but I'm feeling hopeful in them not giving up on the franchise with this move. My guess is that they're going to use this as a funding point

MrNinosan110d ago

That is the same amount as daily loading screens... never mind

Lollipop chainsaw now a remaster not a remake

At fans request apparently.

gold_drake198d ago

i wonder if they looked into what a remake would cost and went "NOPE Remaster it is" haha

FreeckyCake197d ago

It probably has to do with what the producer had mentioned recently. The thing about not wanting to change the essence of the original (e.g censorship). So maybe remastering the game was the best choice.

CrimsonWing69197d ago

The link to the story didn’t really answer the question. It makes no sense that you have to censor a remake and not a remaster.

What I got from that article is licensed music forced them to change to a Remake(?) and that they’re working hard with the platform holders to negotiate not censoring, which Sony is stupid about.

My question is, how would a Remaster not have to go through censorship?

I’ve seen dialogue changed in FF7 and Baten Kaitos. Then you have actual cutscenes being removed like in the dmc remaster.

I assume the same could be done to this game.

FreeckyCake197d ago

No idea. That's why I said " maybe ".

CrimsonWing69197d ago

Bull sh*t, you show me where fans wanted a Remaster instead of a Remake. I was more onboard with a Remake, I’m less excited just playing the same game I did before but now with sharper textures and better framerate.

ModsDoBetter197d ago

Probably realised this won't do the numbers so didn't want to invest.

No harm, I love Lollipop Chainsaw but it's a bit of a niche title.

gold_drake197d ago

yeh it was super niche even bk then

LoveSpuds196d ago (Edited 196d ago )

Loved it back in the day and have my copy sat on the shelf and ypu are right, it was super niche, which is why my copy is increasing in value slowly but surely. Hoping a remaster doesn't tank the value of my PS3 copy

If it ain’t on Sony box it’s bad

autobotdan271d ago (Edited 271d ago )

Ninja Gaiden 2 was never multiplat. NG Sigma 2 is a remixed game not the same game at all

darthv72271d ago

Dante's inferno... such a great GoW inspired game. So sad the sequel was canned, it sounded like it was going to be even more epic than the first.

Vits271d ago

Yeap, classic GoW is still better mechanically. But the aesthetics and atmosphere of Dante's Inferno were just top-notch. Shame it never got a PC port, but at the very least is available on modern Xbox.

Juiceid271d ago

This list is ok, but Ninja Gaiden reigns supreme!

GhostScholar271d ago

I just can’t get into the devil may cry series. In my opinion you never feel powerful in those games. The guns are pointless as they only serve to be a flashy part of a combo. DMC was the only one that I could tolerate long enough to beat.
