Sprint loses 1million cell subscribers

Sprint this morning reported its results for the first quarter of 2008 and has revealed continued severe losses in its cellular business. The carrier says its net revenue declined nine percent year-over-year to $9.3 billion and that it lost a total 1.09 million wireless customers in the most recent period.

Could be, but I have sprint, and there service sucks reception is the worst, always fading in and out at my house.

I'll be on the next financial lost report, because i plan on leaving them for another carrier.

9 - iPhone was never offered to Sprint
Decapitator,
the iPhone was first proposed to Verizon Wireless, where it was turned down because Verizon did not want to give Apple as much control as they demanded (larger piece of the profits, iTunes supports with NO vcast support, all warranty programs are through Apple, etc.). After Verizon declined the device, it was then offered to AT&T. Apple offered to Verizon Wireless first because they wanted to use EVDO and not Edge or AT&T's still limited 3G network.

10 - I felt this coming evetually, the downfall of sprint
They USED to be good like six years ago.

But now, you lose reception with them so easily. Not to mention their customer service is straight CRAP.

I mean come on, these A holes call my house telling me I owe them 1 cent. YES, one stinkin penny. First off, I paid my bill in FULL in the first place. But a freakin PENNY??? Dude, it costs more to pay the bill rather than the bill itself. F'n stamp costs more for goodness sake.

So oh yeah, I gave them their damn penny and canceled my service.

12 - It's not the phones or the technology its their customer service and....
they are con artist. Always something wrong with my bill. Tried them while I was in San Diego. I also had their land-line service they did the same crappy stunts. I moved found out the only carrier around here is Embarq and they said they were not sprint but took it over for sprint. Embarq pulled same billing and customer service crap I started to wonder. I had this magical bill I supposedly owed them 2 years before I ever used them they gave me the run around. Would not admit that it was actually a Sprint bill that had already been taken care of. Just suckering more money out the public. Sprint probably still gets money out of the deal if it actual is a different company which is why the crap is being pulled. Lose customers got to make money somehow.

same stunts banks that are hurting pull but are too arrogant to realize that it just hurts the numbers more and there isn't enough dumb customers to rip off to make it profitable. Eventually the company dies or merges with another.

In Sprints case just Die!! Die!! -- Nothing good will come from the work ethics of Sprint - they'll just bring other companies down. I sure wish there was free competition in local land service we got ATT north of us and Verizon south of us.

My preference would be Verizon but ATT will do.

Kudos for the the one supporting Altell. Not perfect not the cheapest but great cell service (same network as Verizon but better customer service). The only time they are a pain is when your out of their zones and the phone switches to Verizon and you can't access any Altell stuff from the phone - they don't do a lot to help but still try to offer their nationwide plan which is expensive but it doesn't fix phone access had to quit but I still vouch for their local cell coverage.
