Wow, this is why I like Warner more than others. Stupid Paramount cancelled all Blu films the moment it went HD-DVD exclusive and killed my Face / Off preorder plans.
At least Warner isn't going to shockingly cancel current HD-DVD stuff.
Warner and Blu FTW!

HD DVD add-on for $10!? Seriously?
Looks like the quick death prediction for HD-DVD was indeed true.

It may be that Warner is contractually obligated to release some hd-dvd's until may.

3 - HD-DVD and Marketplace
I still think even though they may not release the movies after may, it still lets them distribute it over Live [of course not during the same time frame as the dvd/blu-ray release]. In the end, it's a win for them.

well it doesnt have to do with live in the first place, unless Microsoft tried to put a live deal behind the scenes with HD-Dvd

3.2 - It has to be true
Awhile back once blu-ray exclusive, the studio partnered with microsoft to release the movies over Live. [sure, half of those movies were also dvd] but they'd only could get it to distribute over Live.
It may not be announced but I still believe it's going to happen this way.

I remember how suddenly the Blu-ray version of Blades of Glory was sacked few days before it's release due to Paramount's announcement.
Kudos to Warner for doing 2 good things:
1.Going Blu instead of the other way.
2.Not cancelling every HD-DVD film in a mintue.

As respectable as this seems. It's more likely that it's just when the contract with HD-DVD expires. If they breached the contract, there can be some lawsuits.
Although I could be wrong, seeing as how Paramount just completely stopped as soon as they announced they were HD-DVD exclusive, yet no lawsuits were pending.
Hell, it's corporate. Who knows the truth behind these things unless you work for them.

They might as well drop support immediately. I mean its good for HD supporters that they dont but then again who wants to spend anymore money on their HDDVD collection. Might as well start getting BR. IF I was a HDDVD supporter I would stop today unless you either still think HDDVD is going to make it somehow, or you simply dont mind buying a format that you know will soon be obsolete.

9 - Don't
worry Blu Ray will die next. 8 million Blu Ray players out and no movie cracked a million yet. There is even more BR players out that movies sold and the new 2.0 standalones will not be mass market price for another 3-4 years.
