Rumor - Microsoft's Secret Conference - BandaiNamco, Koei and Square Enix new IP's for X360 and more

Gamefront.de is reporting that, Microsoft has a possible secret conference coming out before the official TGS kicks off on the 12th of this month, next week thursday. The rumored Microsoft secret conference will have special previews on Halo 3, PGR4 and more.

secret, I agree with you completely, but did you really need to type that much? Lol. I wouldn't even waste my time on Xbots. With the time it took you to type that post you could have been playing awesome, award winning, critically acclaimed games such as Lair; which takes full advantage of both Blu-ray and the Cell processor, with it's 4 gb levels, 1080p native resolution, Dolby Digital 7.1 surround sound, motion sensing controls. Hell I don't even know why I'm here when I could be having so much fun on the PS3.

Those things I mentioned aren't even possible on the 360 and they're ESSENTIAL for Next Generation gaming, as demonstrated so wonderfully by Lair. Maybe the 360 can do 1080p, but it can barely handle it, whereas the PS3 renders graphics in 1080p with minimal effort. The 360 hardware is also completely unreliable. Sure, Microsoft may be resolving the problems with the 2nd heatsink and soon to be released 65nm, but the console was unreliable and that's what matters. Why anyone would even consider purchasing a 360 is beyond me. What games does it have, BioShock? Puuuuhlease. That game is gimped beyond belief by the 360s crappy DVD9 drive and inferior hardware so it automatically sucks. Irrational didn't stand a chance. I'd be surprised if it even scores higher than a 7. Besides, If I can't even enjoy it on my 30k 7.1 surround sound system in 10 different languages, I don't want to play it. Gives me nightmares just thinking about it.

That's called confidentiality. If the competition knew what Microsoft was doing, they would respond based on the disclosed information. For example, if Sony knew that Microsoft was buying exclusive content for GTA, Sony would have made moves to prevent it. But MS is smart, so they made a deal with Take2 and paid them 50 million for more stuff and locked Sony out of any extra content.

I suppose everyone should just be friends and take turns getting deals?

If this is indeed true, the rpg battles are starting to really heat up now. So far Microsoft has Blue Dragon, and Mass Effect and lets now forget Lost Odyssey.

your coyness on this topic makes blood shoot from eyes. The RPG race is heating up? From this bogus rumor-mongering article about a company that can't sell rice in Japan?

Blue Dragon is a wet, steaming chocolate turd, I was high on Mass Effect, but is looking more and more like a Force Unleashed ripoff (remains to be seen...staff problems?), and Lost Odyssey is ........????? Lost in the crowd. If MS can pull off any traction in Japan as far as ANY game goes - much less RPG's, I'll be surprised and humbled. I think this is bogus, but really its way too late for MS to make up any ground in this genre. They should've bought Square to ensure further game clones and emulation of the PS2's success. Well that's it.

...because the japanese console gaming market is flat and the rest of the world is growing. So the companies realize they need *export* sales. And that means targetting the consoles that sell *outside* japan with games focused on what sells in those markets.
They can't stay insular and just shovel out whatever sells in Japan on a take it or leave it basis.
Capcom figured it out first and did it right with Dead Rising and especially Lost Planet and made a bundle.
The owners of Naruto took notice and *split* the gaming licenses for Naruto between japan and the rest of the world. Who got the export license? Ubisoft. Result: coming next month to a 360 near you, a 360-exclusive Naruto.
The japanese gamer no longer generates enough revenue for japanese developers to ignore the rest of the world. And making money from outside japan means targetting PC gamers and 360.

No one really knows much about FF13 or FF13 Versus. For the past 6 years, FF has basically been a cash cow that Square keeps milking rather than innovating or making anything inspiring. They haven't put out a title worth remembering since FF10. FF12 was a narrative disaster and FF13 is looking to be as much style-over-substance as its predecessor. The series isn't what it once was.

I can't tell you any now. I said "for now" cause as of RIGHT NOW, Sony has got hardly any rpgs. Microsoft is doing great in the rpg dept. For now they are winning with more rpgs. That for now can be a definite if they keep it up. But if Sony comes out with some decent rpgs, which they most likely may knowing their past history, Microsoft will have to keep up. But hey, I hope MS wins it all in the rpg dept. I want to see an american jrpg console this time around. I oike Sony as well, but I want MS too have its time in the sun as the console war champ.
