1.1 - WHAT MS MUST DO

I think that if microsoft doesnt do the following they're making a huuuuge mistake: On the day that the ps3 price drops the 360 should be lowered at least this much (obviously all of this is just my opinion)

ELITE--->$400
PRO----->$330
CORE---->$250

EDIT:
And i just realized that if MS actually does this it might hurt nintendo's profits because they might have to lower the price of the wii as well.

HOWEVER IT MAY BE THIS IS CERTAINLY HUGE NEWS

Fact is 5 years from now all three consoles will be ridiculously cheap and most gamers will have all three - except the fanboys, of course.

But here and now, there's still alot of brand loyalty out there and when the price is right, there're alot of quality games and a great net service then those owners will buy the brand they trust.

I for one will eventually get all three.

60 gig Hard Drive
Built in Wireless
Blue-tooth connectivity
4 usb 2.0 ports
Memory card readers
BLU-RAY DRIVE!
not to mention the cell chipset etc..
It was worth the price at 600 its way worth it at 500.
You get a whole lot mre future proof, standard, top of the line stuff in this puppy than you do with any other console.

It's still better IMO than a premium 360, even at $600. You get everything (rumble on it's way) the 360 can do and then some. IN addition to that, it is WAAAAYYY more reliable. My 360 is about to go back to the store for trade in. Don't want to risk another one dying on me. I can live w/o Gears and Halo 3.

thats what i have one and if i had the money i would buy it again....why because that machine is flippin awesome...and plus it plays blu-rays...and i can connect my bluetooth headset to play resistance online....and it can browse the internet and that new ps3 only website is pretty cool....and dont get me wrong i have a 360 2....

It is $480 + $100 for the microsoft wifi adapter + $199 for the HD-DVD addon + $50 for a year of Xbox Live = $829!!!!!

The PS3 is now $499 and includes a industry standard 2.5 inch 60 gb sata drive, a bluray drive, 802.11b/g wifi, industry standard memory card reader, 4 usb 2.0 ports and industry standard bluetooth 2.0, the ability to connect up to 7 bluetooth devices, and 5 free bluray movies!
Also the PS3 has gigabit ethernet. Free online access is included with the PS3. also the PS3 support 7.1 pcm sound and upscalling of all PS1/PS2 games and DVDs to 1080p. DVD upscalling on the PS3 is way better than on the xbox 360 elite.

I can believe how much Americans moan about the price of this console. Here in the UK this machine is £425 which run through the currency converter is $856!!

In this world you get what you pay for more often than not -especially - e s p e c i a l l y when it comes to electronic, mechanized, or motorized items.

The PS3 is well worth $600 maybe even $700 MSRP, but to drop it to $500 is great imo. People that don't understand never will and thus will gripe.

This really is good news. I just might go ahead and grab my third system.

even though you don't think the price was cut deeply enough on the PS3, you do think that it's good for SNE to actually loosen up and respond to the base. Now if we get another drop by say next Spring (April) We'll inch closer to that sweet spot where the PS3 can concentrate more on GAMESW, GAMES, GAMES and forget about pricing and rumble and such. The Sony defense Group was the group who created the rumor that Gears Of War was being ported to the PS3, it got so far out of control that Epic got invovled and called the rumor Absolute BS!

I am glad to here they are dropping the price, I just hope it ain't too soon for them. I know if Sony wants to pick up a good bit of market before the holiday season, then I can see why they will make this move. But I hope they are not doing it because people are crying cause it is not cheaper. For what you are getting with this machine (and I have one), it is well worth the $599 price tag. I spent $499 dollars on mine after I traded in all my PS2 hardware and a few games. That is how you stategically get the price down people!!! I just got mine last month and I am very, very happy with it!
