Bethesda's lawsuit against Interplay over Fallout - new details

New details have surfaced about Bethesda's lawsuit against Interplay over trademark infringement. Or lawsuits, because, as you can see in the court filings, there are two of them. The first one is over the rights to Fallout Online (codenamed Project V13). The second one is over Interplay's re-releases of original Fallout games, like the Fallout Trilogy pack or various digital distribution sites.

what do you mean "who made you a lawyer", they breached a contract, they're getting sued, and they're acting like they didn't see it coming, the knew what the were signing, i'm sure bethesda would like to sell the rights to someone that will actually make the game

2 - Damn Interplay shot themselves in the foot right here.
Don't they have lawyers that are supposed to look over this stuff?

Kinda sounds like Bethesda is being a little overprotective, but I suppose I would be too had I invested the kind of money they must have put into the Fallout license.

Regardless of who is right legally and who is not, it would be a bummer if this made the original Fallout games not available for purchase legally.

This news is sad, from a gamer's PoV. But in the business world, "breach of contract" is breach of contract. Whoever breaches their agreement is gonna get a crap-load of problems and lawsuits. That is a fact. And if Interplay are indeed guilty, then they have to be punished. I don't like it either, but it's the law.
