If it's a prequel or a sequel to Okami I'll piss my pants and go: HELL YEAH!

1.1 - Exciting news!!!
However I have a feeling it will be for a handheld system. If it's a proper HD version I will piss your pants too :/

Wii title. Port of the same game with Wii mote waggle controls.

That's what I think it is going to be.

It's already been ported to Wii.... Most likely a sequel for the Wii though. After all it sold to a higher % of Wii owners than it did PS2 owners. I mean PS2 user base was at 100plus million and the game sold poorly. Sold about the same numbers on Wii with an install base of25 million or so. Cant really blame them for not putting it on Ps3 when its been proven Ps3 owners dont support these types of gamers. So many flopped on Ps2 after all.

For curious people, Okamiden is a play on words with "Ōkami" (wolf) and "Iden" (legacy or heredity).

I love Okami...but I have to wonder how good a sequel is going to be if it isn't made by Clover studios (as good a job as the folks at Ready at Dawn did in porting it to Wii, it was still just a port).

9 - If Okamiden is a Okami sequel...
I will jump three meters high. Okami is one of my all-time favourite game along with Shadow of the Colossus. Maybe a next-gen Okami? That would be a dream...

10 - Capcom has many talented members...
They would be able to create a Okami sequel, for sure. Even without Clover Studio...

If true, this is awesome :D

I would much rather like to see a spiritual successor of the franchise made by Platinum though. Kind of like how former-Looking Glass Studios did with System Shock and Bioshock.

I can see this being on he PS3 for the PS3 motion controller. THey wont miss out on that.
And then most likely a Wii version. I suspect Sengouku Busara 3 for Wii/ PS3 is because of their motion controllers.

If this is the case then Sony is getting a good deal here: it is clear their controller is helping them see ports of Wii exclusive titles.

But thats only if both SB3 and this OD use motion controls.

16 - For love of god
Please be on the HD systems. They should also do an Okami HD. I'm really excited. I have a strange feeling its a DS title.

I understand that everyone wants it on whatever console they own so that they can play this...but I don't think HD is a prerequisite for Okami.

The original is timeless because it's all about the art style and art direction, not the number of polys onscreen or the overall sharpness (some reviewers complained that the Wii version was TOO sharp because of the paper filter being more subtle). The original looks as fresh today as it did the day it was released. It's almost "the graphics look dated"-proof.

That said, the celestial brush felt clumsy to me on dual analog, and felt infinitely better with IR/pointer control on Wii. If it's put on the PS3, it better use the wand. Otherwise, it'd be better off on Wii, IMO.
