I thought Ico and Shadow of the Colossus were two parts of the trilogy to which The Last Guardian is supposed to be the last entry.

I didn't think they would be franchises of their own.

edit: As far as I know it's not meant to be a trilogy in the normal sense where they all tie in with each other story-wise but a trilogy in the way that Chan-wook Park directed a trilogy of movies that have nothing to do with each other apart from them being about revenge. The most famous of which being Oldboy

Best I can tell, Ico and Shadow of the Colossus take place in the same game world (with SotC being the earliest of the two timeline wise), but bar the world, language and some other references, they're essentially unconnected games, it's a trilogy in the loosest sense. The Last Guardian will probably take place in the same place as the other two.

Edit: Good call, the "Vegence Trilogy" is a good reference point.

Great list, I've never played Persona so Id have to switch that one out with a new Monster Rancher game.

The main reason for Monster Rancher isn't HD related but instead that there's online now. There's more people to judge your monsters against. Monsters you TRULY develop and grow to the stats and abilities you want and to be able to show it off online would be great.

5 - There are many mnay more like Jak, Dark Cloud, Syphon Filter, clolony wars, ZOE etc etc

that should and they will. Its at least ten years cycle for the PS3. You can bet your bottom you will see most of them before the PS3 is put to rest in another 8 years or more.

Again, its a marathon, not a sprint. Sony will always have the edge when it comes to franchise.

Terrible list. Having both SotC and Ico on there is fail. Also Okami isn't a series - there's only one game. Personally, I would like to the Shin Megami Tensei, Fatal Frame (why did it go to Wii :(, Twisted Metal and Kingdom Hearts series go to the PS3.

Like many of you have already said, ICO and Shadow of the Colossus are in the same series to the loosest sense with The Last Guardian being the end to the trilogy. So, the list already is bad right there. Also, Sly Cooper is most likely going to show up on PS3. There was a rumor that Sly 4 is being developed and will have a PSP/PS3 launch.

Last Guardian is somewhat of a trilogy to ICO and Shadow of the Colossus for the developers however many things may be different...

In my Opinions I think Last Guardian may be the sequel to ICO

Jack & Daxter should be there since IGN voted it as one of the most influential games of the PS2!!!
