Xbox 360 Natal Bundle for $400?

Xbox Evolved writes:

"With a $299.99 Xbox 360 Elite all but practically confirmed at this point the only thing left on the table is whether or not Microsoft intends to replace the former Elite model with another SKU to refill that $399.99 price point. What a better SKU than that 360 Natal bundle that we've been talking about? "

Halo Reach...hmm was that confirmed for 2010? If so, i can definitely see that happening.

Anyway, I could see a $400 Natal bundle.

Bundle w/ Halo Reach? I highly doubt that - they'll probably bundle it with their version of Wii sports(which they are doing). That's the crowd they are going after.

Its obvious they are trying to market the 360 as a party console, in the vein of the Wii. Its not gonna be for hardcore gaming, its for casual games. I think Natal will probably retail at 150.00 if you want to buy it seperatley.

I have a feeling it will be around 299$ if not even less with a newly designed 360.

I'm not looking forward to any of this motion crap. Wii is already bad enough, let alone "natal" *sigh* -_-

Microsoft already stated on several occasions that they are ideally trying to implement a hybrid of natal/controller. Imagine playing a game like COD MW2 and standing next to a side of the building and having the OPTION to lean your head and your character follows, only exposing minimal part of your character instead of having to move your whole body out to see whats around the corner. I think Natal will be successful with hardcore gamers if it had a hybrid, and that's what Microsoft is aiming to do. It is attempting to grab some of the casual market, they want to be seen as the main piece of electronics in the living room, so they are attempting to reach EVERYONE, but the whole system is not going to be casual, you will still have your FPS and halo's and gears type of games.

1.10 - Since they already stated it will be $99 or less, this makes sense
Why not bundle it with a game like Wii did with wii sports? Get a easy access copy cat strategy like Nintendo did and ensure mass penetration. It is not like the 3.99 billion dollars they made last quarter is going to get used soon anyway. Just thrown in the money pile they have.

They will bundle it with a game that more suites the audience for Natal. That is if they have learned anything from what Nintendo did with Wii Sports.

Halo reach wont come bundle seeing as it is the next big step in the Halo series, which I'm guessing will not incorporate Natal. Then again I could be wrong.

I dont think it will be 400$ still, by next year the Elite can drop again and the Natal 360 will be 300$-350$. They want to make it affordable for people. Maybe even 250$ considering it will be 360's 5th year.

Yea I don't see them releasing a 399$ SKU either, I would bet on a 299$ or even less Xbox 360 Slim release. One of the main things I remember MS kept saying was they wanted it to be affordable next year. 399$ is too much.

Considering price drop on Elite will be $50, MS still got plenty of profit left to drop the price on the 360 and push Natal.

A $300 bundle with Natal and maybe even an upgraded hard drive is likely considering 120GB HD probably will start increasing in price as laptop hard drives move to larger capacity.

A natal sku makes a lot of since and that elite dropping in price does leave a lot of room for speculation

So, a price drop for the Elite, making hard drive prices come down.. Then make another SKU with the Natal for $399? $99 for Natal alone? Do we even know what the price will be for Natal first?

I doubt halo reach will be the premiere title for Natal. Why? Bungie has already come forth and said that Halo wouldn't work well with Natal.

The appeal of the Elite lies not in the cruddy HDMI cable (which I replaced with a far superior Rocketfish cable), but in the expanded HD (great for game installations)...

...and that oh-so-sexy matte black finish. Smoooooooth. :)

There are no such things as a cruddy HDMI cable. It either works or it doesn't (all or none). The signal is sent digitally in HDMI verse analog which older standards use. So you gain nothing buy spending more for the cable. Anything more then $3.50 for an HDMI cable is simply throwing your money away.

As far as the Elite goes... at one time you had to choose between a 20gb Pro or a 120gb Elite. Both were the same with the exception of the HDD, HDMI, and color.

Now the 60gb Pro's closed the gap there isn't much difference except an extra 60gb's and color.

I bought the Elite because it was the better choice (cheapest). I got the holiday bundle with 2 games of my choosing for $399. I also got a 3rd game plus a 13month XBL card for like $490 total.

Math:
Pro = $299 + $180 in games + $30 XBL = $510
Elite = $399 w/ 100gb+HDD and 2 games + $60 game + $30 XBL = $490

I agree with jib dont you think nintendo wont release a price cut for the wii before natal launches i alrdy know the normal retail price can be lowerd to 175euro i think manufacturing cost for the wii are dirt cheap so a wii for 150 euros in europe would kill off natal if you ask me.

@blacksand1

before you spend more money, go buy yourself a wii, cause seriously, i haven't heard anything about wii breaking down while 360 (RROD, E74?) and PS3 (YLOD, Disc Read Error, HIGH PRICE TAG)

Here are my thoughts:

People buying console based on the PRICE and personnel taste:

Wii = low price + casual (everyone can play = even your grandma can play) + more family oriented games or party games = selling very well

x360 = decent price + live + largest library games with lots of variety = selling well (between casual and hardcore)

PS3 = blue ray + wifi + good library of games (hardcore) = decent sell

15 - Fresh new face for 360.
I think Natal will be packaged with a new slim version of 360 since Microsoft said they are going to treat the natal launch as if it were a new system altogether. Price will most likely be $299.99. Maybe they will even try to tout the quality of the new hardware (hopefully all issues will be resolved by then). Fresh new face for 360.

Like around 200-300...To even combat the Wii. But I think the Wii has saturated the market as its sales are going down. So by the time Natal comes out where gonna have fanboy wars of which Casual Console is bettah....Sonies or 360's....oh the irony....

Don't worry about Halo Reach, worry about how much natal is gonna be worth for or if it is convinient to actually get the Natal when it releases. Halo Reach is something out of the topic so stop backing it up with something that most likely won't come with natal. Anyway, like everyone who oppeses natal, I think the same way because I don't think EVERYONE would reconsider trying the motion controllers at all. All gamers love a handheld controller, not a stick like the Wii.

$400 for an xbox360 with Natal seems expensive for ppl.

Just look around of how many "cheap bastards"did not buy a 400 dolar PS3 so they could buy Wii or Xbox360 for 100 less dolars.

I guess now it is payback for Sony .... PS3 Slim+GT5/PS3+FF13(Japan) for $300 against Natal stuff for 400.... hahaha.... Ps3 slim will win.

$400 dolars is way too much to ask for ocasional players to pay that much.
