I think they would lose out on alot of money. On the other hand Killzone 2 would take over on the PS3.

And who knows what the next Medal of Honor is going to be like. So in the end it doesn't matter really, but I don't think it would happen.

Theres also BattleField and MAG.

Why isn't the question, could Microsoft afford it? It's down to them, same as always opening their cheque book. No chance it would happen but even if it did I wouldn't give a damn.

A lot less people will buy MOW2 than COD4, myself included. I've had enough of FPS games this gen and they'll be afraid of changing anything incase of a backlash.

Of course they can NOT. In the middle of this economic downturn every company is trying to maximize profit, Activision is not an exception. In order to make MW2 PC/360 only bound MS should make for the losses.

I would actually like it to be Xbox360 only, it would get alot of Ps3 players to play a shooter other than Call of Duty. I dont really see it happening though unless MS threw some money at them which i could see them doing because now-a-days i think CoD might be a good console seller. If it was gonna happen though it would most likely be soon, it would be a not as good move once the ps3 gets a price drop and sells more units. But this is all just my opinion and on N4G opinions are like herpes, alot of people have them but nobody wants to hear about it. :P

but i agree with you on the part where you say that it could be a serious console seller. Call of Duty is the most favored game between my friends, mainly because most of them own a 360. I stopped playing with them online, because I started to play Killzone 2(got it just a few days ago).

2.2 - I have to disagree.

COD4 was done the right way for me and no matter the console, it was and is the best online game "for me". At the moment, I play it primarily on the PSN and since that is where the majority of my friends are, it just makes sense to enjoy it ont he PSN. I would certainly be bummed if they went exclusive but would get over it as many of my friends and I would move over the 360 to continue playing the game in its second form.

I just cannot understand this idea of it going exclusive since it would not be beneficial for anybody. COD4 was multiplatform and it was awesome. I am sure they will continue to produce amazing games including Modern Warfare 2 so to say that anybody would be let down is a non issue.

In the end, there are millions of folks that bought COD4 ont he PS3 and are plenty of folks worth of incentive to keep the series going on the PS3 as well as the 360. It would be simple madness for Infinity Ward to not produce it for both consoles.

It’s not Infinity Wards call, its Activision’s call.

It was a story about a week or so ago when Activision demanded a price cut for the PS3 or they would drop support for the PS3.

As could Sony-if they wanted to-you do realise that Sony are a properly effin big company don't you? Like MS the gaming div is NOT the be all and end all for them and if they changed policy I see NO reason why they couldn't buy an exclusive-no matter how big.

However, as Halo makes MS plenty and could be hurt by a COD exclusive to 360 the same's true of Resistance/KZ so it's only ever staying as a third party multi, imo, whatver they greed crazed men with no shame at Activision might pretend. I'm sick of COD4 controls now in any case and I can't see them changing them-not after the COD massive cried en masse over the superior, imo, and different KZ2 ones(I thought it was really sad that people wanted two shooters to get even more similar in a genre where individuality is at a premium anyway)-so MW2 is not a day one purchase for me , not this time as I'm sick of the annual grind now.

Its call of duty, they could make it exclusive to either the PS3 or 360 and it would still make a lot of money.

However, would they? No. They keep banging on about them wanting it to be the biggest entertainment launch to date, beating out GTAIV, they probably couldn't do that if it was exclusive to one console.

It is either the second or third best selling game on the PS3 and probably around the 3rd or 4th on the 360.

Um HipHopgamer is their idol. You might want to click on the link and look at their website. Plus at the beginning of the show they sound uninformed with the news like the PS3 has 25 million accounts now when it is PS3, PSP, and website combined accounts. Then they say when the PSP GO comes out they will add to the numbers as if they don't know that the PSP already allows you to go to the store now.

I know 256 players and zipper interactive are going to take out a chunk of MW2 sales. I just cannot wait 2010's M.A.G. I hope they are dong everything possible to reduce the amount of lag during gameplay.

Well Call of Duty 2 was the closest I think they did a PC/360 version of that. I think there might of been a PS2 version but not sure.

I doubt they would do it though. Activision is all about the money and they are all about exploiting everything to the maximum. So their own reputation makes their PS3 threats looks weak.

Activision could do it in theory, but they would loose out on so much money.

But if they did, there is no lack of online shooters for PS3.

Of course I have no plan on picking up any Activision games because of their stupid lawsuit with EA and Double Fine over Brutal Legend.

Plus Call of Duty is feeling really repetitive right now, I really don’t need one every year.

I´d wish they make it a whole lot longer than the last one so I would want to buy it. I usually don´t like the multiplayer part of an FPS (if it ain´t battlefield, that game has variation), so if it ain´t like 10 hours or so I give it a pass.

well COD MW has around 11 million people in their rankings for xbox 360 and if im right 7 million on the ps3. now lets say all these people have bought the game and there is a total of 18 million units sold. the majority is on the xbox and the game would have no problem selling, however 7million is a big difference (much more than the L4d2 boycotters) so it wouldn't be a smart move if activision wants to make some money. now i would say it would sell more than 11 million all in a year cant say for sure but COD 2 was an xbox and pc game and that game did sell pretty well so the game will sell. CODMW was a great game and if all the people are sayin MAG will come out its not going to be the same as CODMW2, there are other games like MAG(not 256 multiplayer) but the game styles different and IMO COD MW hit the G spot for me and there is no game like it and MW2 will IMO be better than MAG disagree all you fanboys if u want i dont care, you may dislike call of duty and i may also dislike MAG

Could activision make cod4mw2, and its sequels exclusive for the 360 yes they could, have they made anything exclusive this gen, with both consoles being out.

So in your opinion mw2 will be better than mag, and it is the perfect (roughly) shooting game, and yet anyone whose opinions does not mirrior yours about mw2 or mag is a fanboy, and you don't care if people disagree with you. If you can't see the problem with this mindset i truly feel sorry for you.

It sounds to me as though you don't have any desire to discuss gaming, since you have basically have told everyone that their opinion is meaningless to you, so why should anyone else care about your opinions, why are you even on n4g if not to discuss gaming.

Well I don't know why not, PS2 got 3rd party exclusive support last gen. Maybe devs want to see one platform succeed so they don't have to put too much money in making multiple versions, push one console to be the nr. 1 and sell the maximum amount of copies on that platform.

Its no fun to invest on two platforms, were the PS3 cost multiple time sthe devcost then the 360...

Thats because the PS2 was an EXTREMELY safe bet (over 100 million units)

the ps3 and 360 are too evenly matched with each other in terms of sales, so they would have a problem at this point since they've already put time and money into both platforms
