Obsidian's Aliens RPG officially canceled

A few months ago, rumors hit the 'net that Sega had axed Obsidian's Aliens RPG, though neither party would either confirm or deny the rumors. The game was scheduled to be one of three projects funded by Sega to use the Aliens license, alongside Rebellion's Aliens VS Predator and Gearbox's Aliens: Colonial Marines, both first person shooters.

I was hoping it was just put on hold, rather than out right canceled. That sucks, Obsidian was arguably the most talented dev Sega had working on the Aliens-licensed projects.

I'm surprised. Gearbox have gone completely dark too with colonial marines....I didn't even see it at E3. Makes me wonder if that title is next.

I sure hope not. Hollywood and the gaming world both need to revive this franchise. Maybe we should kidnap cameron and ridley scott?

Wow, it must not have been up to par with what the publisher was expecting. Hopefully Aliens Colonial Marines doesn't get canned as well.

7.1 - Last account from Gearbox is that Aliens: Colonial Marines is moving forward.
I think Obsidian may have been stretched a little too thin with most, if not all their focus on Alpha Protocol (which looks pretty good imo) so .... maybe this will be for the best. I would have hated to see a halfbaked Aliens RPG come out.
