50 Cent's New Game Selling 1/12th Of His First One

Better reviews don't seem to be helping 50 Cent's newest video game.

Despite earning higher review scores than 2005's 50 Cent Bulletproof, February's Blood on the Sand has sold an estimated 56,000 copies in the U.S. between its February launch and early April.

Its predecessor did far better.

In its first two months of release in the fall of 2005, Bulletproof sold 681,000 copies, en route to lift-to-date sales of 1,123,000 units, according to NPD.

The original game had a Metacritic score of 47; the new game has a 71 and has been described as a guilty pleasure on some of the top gaming podcasts and review sites.

5 - Honestly
I didn't even realize the game had come out yet! I'm pretty sure that the first game really put a bad taste in people's mouths. Probably too afraid to plop 60 bucks on a game that follows up the first disaster.

50 was just hotter back then and there's fewer little "Fiddy" wanabees around these days.

Sadly, though, the second game is supposed to be way better than the first(I couldn't say having played neither)and if the first sold that well purely because of it's name you have to wonder if people will try that hard with licensed games ever again. If the quality is less relevant than the franchises current popularity why should they, as a business, bother.

Worries me that people would buy games with a M rating just for who's on the box rather than how good the game is in it.

Got the game from GameFly and it was ok but why does every other word have to start with F in that game. It is not worth 60US but for 10US one could have a decent time with the co-op gears of war style.
