THQ: de Blob Sells Over 700K

THQ's unique paint-splattering Wii game de Blob has sold over 700K units worldwide, CEO Brian Farrell said on Tuesday during the Goldman Sachs Technology and Internet Conference in San Francisco.

Even in a wretched retail environment, the game has been able to hold its original $49.99 price point after about five months of availability. "We can make money on games like that," Farrell said.

Awesome. Great game with great sales figures. I hope that sends THQ a message. The game was fantastic. I bought it and was very pleased with the game. One of the nicest games I've played in awhile. It felt like so much love was put into the game.

Even though I'm a Sony fanboy, I'm glad to see third-party games selling well on the Wii. It's better for everybody when third-parties can make money off of a system. Hopefully more developers can use the motion controls in interactive ways when they see successes like this.

Very nice to see. It's a great game...easily one of the best third-party games on the Wii. It's too bad Zack and Wiki didn't get the same kind of love.

Maybe this will lead to better quality third-party titles for the Wii. I am tired of all the shovelware.
