this game was hug in japan for some reason, anytime you played online it was always a bunch of japanese people

and honestly for a big time special effect movie that isn't that much

spiderman 3 cost something like 250 million to produce, the alst pirates of the carribean was around 300 mill, dark knight was around 190 million, iron man was 140 million

i dont doubt that figure one bit, 100 million for a movie that is guaranteed to have a lot of highend cg in it is actually not that much

Considering the fact that Avi Arad is producing the movie AND David Hayter (X-Men, co-wrote X2, 1st script of Watchmen) is writing the script with the add-in of a flexible budget such as this, I really don't see how this can fail...I guess it can fail with casting, but we'll just have to wait and see. Everything so far has this movie pointing in the right direction.

I always worry when people decide to do Film version of computer games. I was highly annoyed with the job that was done on the Resident Evil films.

Lost Planet was a good game, not great, but enjoyable. Hopefully this will be one game to movie conversion that will go reasonably well

Risky. Most game to movies are poorly done. Not sure if they will ever turn the corner like comics have done, but that's a decent amount of cash on a movie that may not recoup it.

David Hayter (yes, Solid Snake himself) wrote the script to the movie. He also wrote the script for X-men 2 (the best x-men movie IMO) and Watchmen.

P.S. He also played the game while writing it.
