Same was last year with Uncharted and Ratchet, and look at them now. Fact it there are a ton of games atm, many want to play Fallout 3 and what not instead.
Not i big deal, it will have long legs, because I say so.

Sony games have long legs. People will buy them over a long period of time. It is not like the states where there is a big burst of sales and then they die off.

Just to point it out Gears is not in the top 10.

It's not the PS3's price. Why isn't R2 doing as well as other games like COD5? It's a travesty really. There really is no excuse.

I have some idea though. I have a friend with a PS3 and all he plays is COD4. Only occasionally, he's not a big gamer, but despite my pleas to get him to buy Warhawk he never would. I can just imagine someone like him buying COD5 yet foregoing the other gems of the holiday season. I imagine that there are a LOT of people like that, who play maybe 1 or 2 games like Fifa and COD and then just buy the next version the next year without consideration to other genres or other great games. It's a shame.

we as ps3 owners have been b1tching about good games for the past 2 years, and now that were getting them the ps3 owners arent buying them? all i can say is that if the ps3 starts failing its really all you guys fault for not supporting it. I have all 3 systems so i dont really give a sh1t about sales and who gets what, i lean towards sony mostly because they have brought me the best gaming experiences of my life, but this kinda makes me mad, if anything negative starts to happen to the ps3 you ps3 owners really deserve it for not supporting it.

PS3 owners have been enjoying the fantastic games released this year and last. It's the 360 fanboys who have been spreading FUD about the PS3 having no games. I bought my PS3 at launch and guess what? I've rarely felt like I've been lacking in games to play.

As for why people aren't supporting R2, well, I gave my guess at a reason above, but I think it's just a shame that people aren't buying it in great quantity. I mean what do people want?!? It's not a great FPS that's for sure. A rehashed COD4 sequel will sell like hotcakes though.

you guys are aware that Resistance 1 was not immediate hit, but it did sold better in times. Not all games need to be Immediate hit like HALO 3 and gear of war 2. Only Microsoft marketing has the capability to do that. That's something you have to give kudos to Microsoft. As for R2, it's not the end of the days, did you remember in EU, Resistance was like in the EU chart for a damn long time, not top but always in there. I bet same thing will happen again.

all i am saying is that there is almost 17m ps3 out there, and lbp hasnt sold a million yet ( its getting there) R2 isnt doing as expected, motorstorm 2 not so much, what are the ps3 fans waiting for? go buy the f-ing games, or in a couple of years you aint getting sh1t. Could everyone be waiting for christmas? probably, Could it be the economy? yes, Could it be the shipment problems with R2? yes, Could it be the LBP was delayed a week? you darn skippy, but then i think hhmm GeOW sold 2.1 mil IN ONE DAY!!! Either Chart Get! wants to start a flame war or they seriously didn't realize that the game hadn't even been out a whole week. OR, they thought that R2 would sell like COD or Gears 2, which everyone with a head on their shoulders knows would not happen.
Is R2 a flop? We'll see after a few weeks of sales in the UK and Europe, but I would think that it will still sell very well.

Anyways, I own R2 and I'm having a lot of fun playing the online co-op.

I can't call a game a flop if it's in the top ten. And I can't say its sales were lacklustre based off the UK alone. I have this nagging feeling that I should reserve judgement until I see numbers reflecting the entirety of EU and NA. So I'm not disappointed right now.

Some people just need instant gratification. SONY has rarely had a game sell big in it's first week. Most Playstation games since the PSone have gathered momentum. SONY has always relied on making a great product that can speak for itself. Except this game to do well in the long run.

Killzone 1's sales in comparison to Resistance 1 sales is no indication of how well Killzone 2 will sell.

Metal Gear Solid 3 only sold a little over 3 million copies in it's lifetime on the PS2 and the PS2's installbase was huge. However, Metal Gear Solid 4 on the PS3 has sold more than MGS3 did in JUST 3-4 months on the PS3 with an installbase a LOT lower.

Killzone 1 was plagued with technical issues and that's probably why not as many picked up on it. Also, First Person Shooters weren't really that big on the PS2 as the Original Xbox. However, most PS3 owners are hardcore gamers and shooters is a very popular genre on the PS3.

I can almost guarantee that Killzone 2 will sell better and will sell faster than Resistance 2. Killzone 2 is a more realistic shooter like Call of Duty 4 with realistic guns while Resistance on the other hand is mostly the opposite and there's a lot of people that just don't play shooters that have a lot of unrealistic guns like Resistance.

I think that a lot of people got into the Resistance 2 Beta and might not have been blown away by it, and may have decided to just not buy it. On the other hand, the Killzone 2 Beta is blowing players away with the graphics alone and that's just one thing. Killzone 2 will do better in sales than Resistance 2 will and I have no doubt about it.

I have Resistance 2, but haven't got a chance to play it yet because I've just been addicted to Fallout 3.

PS3 games never sell the fastest, they sell over time and that's what counts to me. However, like I said above, I do think that Killzone 2 will sell MUCH faster than Resistance 2... Killzone 2 is WAY more anticipated than Resistance 2 is and I don't see why it won't.

anyway, R2 just released in the UK, at a period where an asston of good games have come out.

on the 360 end, besides multi-plats like COD and Fallout 3, there hasn't been many other games on the 360 worth picking up, so i understand Gears 2's sales. the game has a gigantic fanbase.

i picked up Fable 2, but that's it.

Resistance: Fall of Man was almost universally BLASTED for not reinventing the FPS genre as we knew it.

because of that, the sequel has an uphill battle to face, despite it's quality. it truly IS an amazing game, single player AND multi-player, but so many people were quick to hop on the Fall of Man hate train, that it's taking them a bit longer to be convinced.

i mean, look at Killzone. that game was also critically blasted. the PSP version rocked, but still got largely ignored. the Killzone 2 beta has been INCREDIBLY fun, and is a huge improvement over the original Killzone, but there are STILL people that want to hold firm to their views because of the first title in the series.

like Ratchet and Clank Future and Uncharted, i think that Resistance 2 will have long legs, and new PS3 owners (of which i expect a nice amount of new PS3 owners this holiday season), will probably pick it up.

we've just been through one of the biggest game release schedules in recent years, and not everybody can buy the games they wanted.

i picked up Fable 2, Resistance 2, Little Big Planet, and Fallout 3.

i had to pass on Far Cry 2, Valkyria Chronicles, SOCOM: Confrontation, Dead Space, Motorstorm: PR, Mirror's Edge, Prince of Persia (which i MIGHT be able to pick up this week, but i doubt it; bills and rent to pay), and a few more i can't think of at the moment.

what i'm trying to say is, us gamers with a limited budget have some hard choices to make.

i traded in a sh*tload of games just to be able to pick up Fable 2, Resistance 2, LBP, and Fallout 3. i only own ONE Xbox 360 game (Fable 2), because i traded in the rest. it's been hard times.

things are better now, but i'm still not going to be able to get all the exclusives and multi-plats from the past two months. i still haven't picked up Tales of Vesperia on the 360 yet either.

i think a lot of you guys are getting too wrapped up in sales numbers, as if it proves ANYTHING in the long run.

while sales of titles most certainly decrease over time, not selling 1 million copies day one isn't a death knell.

look at Uncharted and Ratchet and Clank Future: TOD. they didn't sell a million during the first week, but have since moved on to selling 2 million and over 1.5 million respectively.

sales numbers do NOT equal a quality game.

some series burn bright at the start, then sales stagnate in the end. others sell at an even pace for the duration of their life on the shelves. *shrugs*

R2 is awesome, and i'm having a blast with it.

also, where's Gears 2 in that UK top ten?

you'd think there'd be an article about that too, but i guess not. it's only noteworthy when it's a PS3 exclusive, right? amiright?

Nothing beats dedicated servers. I am so tired of relying on other peoples Internet connections for a solid game.

I have yet to expierience any lag in R2 and I like it. At this point I don't see myself playing online with out dedicated servers.

How is COD:WW's online anyway? I don't have the best internet connection so i need it to be strong.
