PlayStation 3, Nintendo DSi Sales Cool Down In Japan

impressive sales for the 360 ..considering that there's no new games out right now except for GTA

not so good for the ps3 considering the new LBP+GT5spec III Bundles+ GTA IV+LBP-dualshock bundles

..anyway back to what matters,sales for all consoles were low,ps3 hasnt got to worry about 360 in japan its not even sold a million after 3years,its that damn wii...even though it sold low it was still 6k more than the ps3 i just dont understand whos buying wii's still

Fufo is actually making a great point.
I thought 360 wouldn't sell at all in japan...
And you would expect the home brand(SONY) to be selling like crazy there, with those 2 games.

Not saying those are bad figures but I for one expected sh/tloads more.

Well... i wouldn't call those "impressive"... for ps3 neither, too bad. I think that for a big boost in sales we have to wait for White Knight Chronicles, it's on the top tep wishlist of the japanese. Before that.. which game is going to come out? I don't remember (res2 is already out there?)

The PS3 needs rpgs and some heavy hitting ones. White Knight Chronicles will most likely pick up the pace in December.

Even then PS3 should have done loads more, it's japan we are talking about.
Don't they love GT5?
LBP should be a hit since loco roco was cute as hell.

It's just weird seeing that the PS3 isn't actually flying off like everyone expected.
And saying "pick up the pace in December. " or any given time is pretty much useless since Ps3 isn't doing that great in their own home land as i thought they would be.
It's sony right? with their great success of the Ps2?

Things just seem to be out of place.

Look at the 360...it's not the same amount but it is clearly lot's...this is japan!

Kotaku: Don't look at how the PS3 compared directly with the 360...Just compare the PS3 sales with the week earlier...otherwise, people might think that the PS3 is actually doing well in Japan

The 360 doubled? That's interesting. I didn't think anything worthwile came out over there yet. That's good for them at least.

PS3 was brought back down to earth, but still did okay numbers compared to before the spike. Not too far behind the Wii either.

The portables own Japan.

5595 separates PS3 from Xbox360 this week, but even so and altough PS3 sold more units than, it's the PS3 that suffers according Kotaku...

With the way Microsoft advertises I'm sure even some Japanese feel they should buy a 360 or microsoft will kill them. ;)

Just joking but I think we all know that what really matters is the numbers that these companies show from the big holiday rush coming up.

But I guess in reality that doesn't even matter, its really just all about the games...

The way famitsu reviewed Last Remnant, Nov 20 is doomsday for the PS3 in Japan. Sony better hope Dec 25 brings good days thanks to the White Knight!

7 - surprising...
Looking at the japan number from the past few weeks it is very surprising. I like that the ps3 shot up like it did but what is most surprising is the 360. I was expecting it to drop back down to the average of 4000 consoles (maybe less) but it actually did better. Has been doing better. No spin about it, just fact.

People ask why is the wii selling. I ask, why is the 360 selling?
