Multi-GPU Battle: ASUS EAH3850 Trinity, EAH3870X2 and XFX GeForce 9800 GX2

VR-Zone has put the ASUS EAH3850 Trinity through its paces and it turns out that this monster three-way CrossFireX card with three Radeon HD 3850 MXM modules isn't as fast as expected. Although part of this might come down to AMD's drivers, as there seems to be some performance issues compared to the Radeon HD 3870 X2.

1 - Drivers
Will check back in a few months once proper drivers are released, looks interesting though. I hope another manufacturer of graphics cards helps drive down prices in the market and make Nvidia pull its finger out and release a really killer card instead of the 9 series which was a big disappointment.

cant believe that you think the 9 series is a disappointment the 9800 GX2 owns the 8800 ultra but then again it does have 2 cores but still it amazing. well don't think you will be saying that when nvidia release the 9900 later this year

I admit it may be a more powerful card, i am just stating that its not that big a leap forward than the 8800 Ultra or Even the GT which is a fraction of the price. You could justify paying almost 500 quid on a card if it offered more than just 5 - 10 FPS more in games.

As for the 9900 i doubt it will make that much of a impact considering the G200 is in development.
