Microsoft Labels Yahoo/Google Deal Monopoly

Microsoft tonight quickly responded to Yahoo's Google ad trial, attacking the deal as a potential move towards a monopoly. The Windows developer argues that any more permanent agreement would place "over 90%" of all search ads under Google's control and would shut out attempts by other firms to offer alternatives.

Give me a Yahoo/Google monopoly over Microsoft any day. They've already done more than their fair share to destroy the computer industry. I love seeing Microsoft cry about another deal being a monopoly. This is just too funny.

By strict definition they would be a monopoly since they would control a majority of the ad revenues and there would little to no significant competition. That being said I'm uneasy with any company(even google) controlling the majority of that market.

ohh look who is talking! you forgot what you did to Netscape?
microsoft killed netscape by releasing IE with each windows pack, making it unremovable and slowly killing the other browser. this is only one example. anyway FF is here and MS is getting their ass kicked. haha
I still use 2 ms products thought, media player and windows. windows is not perfect but i pick it over mac any day. media player is pretty good. I have VLC but still prefer using media player.

When it comes to most things, I think monopolies can be considered bad. Search engines, however, don't bother me. I only use google anyways, and so do many people(or yahoo).

MS is like a spoiled child. "But, but, I want that TOOOOOOO!!!"

It almost seems like their whining.

10 - The irony Killed Me!
I still don't understand why they see the business market as a killing field. Great example is Sony and Toshiba. They competed with Blu-ray and HD-DVD, HD-DVD lost, and they still have a close-knit relationship as they're still continuing work on the Cell Processor (with IBM).

Edit: I pointed out low polygon counts in Gears 2, and the rest is history. I'm a 3D artist, so I couldn't help it, haha. I private messaged a bunch of the people who responded to me on the article, explaining exactly what that entailed, but no one's responded yet.

i do hope yahoo and google merge or become part of one another, hey after this is done than i would love for the same blow to happen to ea with take 2, only i wish it were activision or sony or one of the other, just to show these monopoly hungry companies the door.

i mean i rather have google consume yahoo than ms a million times, why? google isn't owned by greedy execs that why, and the other thing here is google its just more popular of a search engine than yahoo and even ms itself.

this right here would be a major blow, and one that would put ms back to work hard on its broken windows os.

now i wonder how much would a company like nvidia would cost, sony could sure use its talent to craft some new graphics cards for its next gaming machine. i imagine something that would blow anything seen or heard of before. but nah, sony is too busy trying to buy out the rest of the bluray shares at this time, a company can only do so much you know.

17.4 - Well...
Microsoft has neither the money nor the structure to absorb a operation as big as Sony. At least not at the moment.

In fact, I believe it would be easier for Sony to absorb Microsoft then the other way around. Seeing as they already have knowledge on how to manage software productions...

... and microsoft... you know how that went when they tried to make hardware. Imagine if they would go on to manufacturing eletronics?? I mean, seriously, would anyone here buy a TV with the microsoft brand on it?! I know I wouldn't.

Can you say... Read ring of LCD Death. RROLCDD... I mean It would be difficult to even make fun of them.

At least you should give Microsoft the benefit of the doubt, it is 100% clear that if one company should know what a monopoly is, it is Microsoft. Based on them being the biggest and most oppressing software monopolist out there. :D But i agree, pot-kettle-something very very dark
